| Just been watching Jeremy Kyle with the other half & an advert for Warrington market came on. Only about 20 seconds long but the main feature of the advert was your very own mascot.
Just wondered if anybody else had seen it, even though it was only short was good to see something from RL on the tv.

| If Warrington market can afford an advert during that god awful programme (I hope you washed your eyes with bleach afterwards!) surely the club can. Would be good to see us get some proper advertising going, like Wigan do with 'the big one'. We should be getting much bigger crowds than we are at present.

Whilst I agree about the Demestos eye 'bath' and the proposition that we should be getting better crowds, do you think that TV advertising would have put anything on the gate yesterday?
Granted it was an 'extra' game and hardly top notch opposition and I think that you might be talking about better advertsing/marketing generally, but, the crowd was poor despite lower admission prices

I was thinking more generally tbh. Yesterday was always going to be a hard sell based on the fact it was perceived by most as a drawn conclusion and many expect us to progress to the final with ease. For SL games though I think we should be getting a lot more through the gates. As I have said on here several times in the past the club is yet to infiltrate the 'new town' areas of Warrington, particularly in the west and south.

I agree, but, also sadly, I think that we may have lost one or two 'old timers' along the way, due to a combination of apathy and economics. If we can't show up en masse now, then when will be a good time?
I don't blame the club either, as it's not just our club that seems to be suffering but the game in general.

| dont understand it at all we've got loads of moaners complaining about meaningless league games but the chance to watch a one off all or nothing knockout game against a side that have often been a bit of a bogey side for us and we only get half our normal gate....
it kind of knocks the meaningless game theory in the pooper......

My theory is that a lot of people decide to stop going/go less because they don't want to spend the money/would rather go to the pub/rather sit at home and watch soccerball/there's not enough drum led community singing (delete as appropriate) but don't want to say that is the reason. So they play the 'meaningless 27 rounds of friendlies' line. Their loss.

| its strange that we are about to restructure Superleague when We will get 11,000 on a friday night for Hull next week which many will say will be just a warm up for the play offs as both sides will be sure to make the top eight.
Its the Challenge cup we need to restructure superleague looks to be in good shape.

That's all it is. A large amount of supporters only travel to one or two away games a year at most, and pay for their season ticket before Christmas so having to pay for a game doesn't sit well with them. Same with the play offs (which are also poorly attended knock out games).

you also get alot of families that buy their season tickets around christmas.... on cup day games, finding the additional £50-£100 for the day is alot of money, especially as most of them are saving for summer holidays and other such things.
spend £100 and take the wife and kids to watch a thrashing... or save the money for something else.... bit of a no brainer really.

Kids tickets were free for season ticket holders and adult tickets bought in advance were much less than SL games. So a family of 2 adults plus as many kids as you have could have sat in the East Stand for £35. If you like RL then that's great value - bit of a no brainer really. Yet not many decided to take advantage for some reason. I certainly did, trading our normal spots in the South Stand for padded seats and a great view in the East.

But come challenge cup final time if these True super fans dont get first dibs on front row tickets and get them personally delivered by a singing Gary Barlow there'll be uproar...
They'll be completely missing the fact that I dont have a season ticket and Dont intend to miss another home game all season, and Ill have paid considerably more than Them over the course of the season....due to not getting the free games that you get with a season ticket and by paying cash on the day and paying top whack.
but i guess thats wayyyy off topic

| Make the CC games a very basic low price, fill the ground, you'll probably recoup that with programme/Beer/Food sales.
Not to mention the atmosphere with a full house, sometime the club should look beyond the obvious £ and look at the whole experience.
Have discount in the shop on CC match days too, with big discounts one hour before/during/1 hour after final whistle.

It is contracted to Heathcotes. I'm not sure of the details but it'll be something like Heathcotes paying a basic fee to run the service plus maybe a percentage of sales above certain levels. Something like that. In other words, Heathcotes run it and have the largest say in how to run it, but the club will get some benefit from increased sales.

Pretty standard trope, and all utter toss i'm afraid. Gets rolled out most cup rounds/play offs and has no substance or grounding.

true, the ticket prices for Sunday were very attractive, as I pointed out earlier. Yet still thousands didn't bother.

| Put £10 on the season ticket price to cover a voucher for one game. As people wouldn't know how long our cup run would be they would be likely to use it for an early round. They would then potentially have more interest in the cup run and maybe come to the later rounds.

But we could potentially get drawn away round four and lose. The other problem with free/cheap tickets is Championship clubs rely on the money from the cup. If you start selling tickets for less than a tenner and let kids in for free etc there isn't much money left once it is split each way. Which is why they got rid of free entry to round four games.

| I think we need to face facts, given the size of the town, the relative success of the team, the financial backing by Moran (a fellow supporter not some 'mystery' doctor), the players and coach that we have and the style of rugby that they produce, I think that attendances across the board are poor, well not as good as they should be anyway.

That is exactly what I have been saying for some time. Every time I go to Leeds I am impressed by the way they do things, all round the grounds of the stadium there are posters advertising the game, a big banner saying World Club Champions 2012 etc etc. They always have a half decent singer on etc and they make it feel like a big event. The first Monday game there looked on Sky like it was a final they made that big a deal of it. You go into the city centre and they have fixtures up in the railway station and visibility around where the shops are.
It confuses me really as Moran is a promoter by trade, yet the posters they put up in the ticket booths and on the website look like a child made them in school. I went into the shop last week to buy a season ticket (I finish uni soon) a ticket for yesterday and two magic weekend tickets. I go in wanting to hand over a considerable amount of money and they make it a huge effort.
No doubt someone will say the club is doing well on the field, why care etc but I would love to see that team and the town get the support it deserves.

If that's so then so be it, but trying/exhausting everything and failing is better than not trying and excepting failure.
If everything has been done to death just make the tickets really cheap and dish the rest out to the local schools and charities.
How much are the big JCDecaux billboards, surely just about 4 strategic boards with Wire games being advertised.
Paying someone to stand at one of those little mobile kiosks, the type they sell programs from, promoting the game through the week, seriously you could pay some £200 a week to stand in Warrington town centre promoting it. For a normal game that's 10 tickets worth of cost, even if it by having that person there you got 11 extra people there that's a profit.
Try everything until you find something, it's easy to rubbish ideas, ok in your case BTS justifiably, with evidence but at least try.
Have a voucher in the season tickets, have one for another half price ticket, bring a friend offers, bring a stub from the last CC game and have a buy one get one free on the next CC game.
A ticket and 50% off a shirt, anything!
Just fill the stadium even if it is with kids, give the amateur clubs a free ticket if you're a registered player/coach in any of the Cheshire based RL clubs.
Have we tried everything, can we even afford to take a small hit to fill the stadium, give the impression that it's in demand and people will take it more serious, advertisers will take it more serious even if it is Toy'r'us or Mothercare that want to put money in.

All the clubs would have to commit to the same scheme.
I know it is a reach but possibly not too complex to administer.
