| Has anyone heard of any sign's of a major sponser for Super League yet ?
To be only a couple of weeks away from the start of a new season, with nothing in place must be a cause for concern.
As long as the guy responsible for the Eddy Stobart cash-free sponsorship last year is well out of the way, (drawing his dole ?), I suppose things can only get better !! Can't they ?

| I guess the people negotiating are doing so to avoid giving the sponsorship away again. The RFL did say the other week that there are a series of meetings being held in mid-January so you'd hope for news to be released sometime soon.
I'd expect a gambling company for Super League and a drinks backed sponsorship for the Challenge Cup.

| It says in League Express that the RFL are ready to announce five new sponsorships over the coming weeks. Don't presume that because you haven't heard anything they have forgot/failed/not bothered to find a sponsor.

To be fair, it was better than the 'sponcer' I saw recently on 'The Virtual Terrace.'
The last three sponsorships have been announced on virtually the eve of a season.

Oh, I'm glad someone gets it.
Announcing a sponsor at the start of the season is just good PR and marketing, as it drums up interest for the coming season as it begins. Also was it not obvious that when the Stobart sponsorship was cut short, a sponsor had been found for 2013? I highly doubt any businessman would leave any product fixed to a deal like the Stobart one, without some sort of release clause.
Along with TV rights, I really don't understand rugby league fan's obsession with who is pumping money into the sport.

Doesn't mean that can't be sponsors, France has no jusirsiction in the UK - just means that the a) the Dragons shirt/stadium wouldn't be able to use the same livery b) the RFL will get less money as a result.

| Forget inflatables being a problem at sprost grounds. I'm waiting to see the first "bright-spark" whos gone down to Argos, bought a bag of ball-pool balls, wrote numbers on them to lob at the obvious Foxy mascot. (Actions which I whole-heartedly condemn).
It seems the RFLs decision to take on board the Foxy deal was a direct result of the financial problems at Bradford and Salford. It seems in exchange for the rights, Foxy offered a tidy sum and also guaranteed a record number of full houses .............

| Having Foxy as an official bingo partner simply means that there is another deal from a betting partner on the table and there is a need to distinguish between the two. We sometimes pride ourself on being a "family sport" so why wouldn't a sponsor want to appeal and have access to those more likely to play bingo?
The approach seems to be that having 4-5 second tier sponsors doesn't devalue the game and means not having the oh-so-important title sponsor loses income from sponsorship.

Is this a never ending roll of people complaining about other peoples spelling, yet spelling words wrong in the process of doing it?
If you're American fair enough but the word 'criticize' is spelt (or spelled if you are "American"icon_wink.gif criticise. HTH

I'm fairly sure there should have been a comma after 'enough'.

I'm assuming the missing apostrophe in "peoples" was purely ironic then?
