I think he'll use that 17, but start with Harrison at Loose Forward and play Grix as the interchange Hooker from the bench. I think he'll start with Woody and put Chris Hill on the bench too. For me the backs pick themselves.

Agree with that - although Carvell has looked awesome coming off the bench in the last couple of games - so may start with Wood & Hill

| I'd be tempted to leave Gaz O'brien out and go with Grix in the halves......i fear the Catalans forwards will target him in defence.

| All injured.
Amazing to think that our 19 is so strong and we have four, five, possibly six, of our first choice 17 out injured - Morley, Monaghan, Myler, Ratchford, Solomona, Evans.

| The 17 picks itself really. I'd start with Hill & Gaz with Benny H at 13.

| Grix in the halves for me...as has already been said..Gaz OB could be singled out as a defensive weakness against a big Cats pack...Harrison at loose.

Although you could go O'Brien at 7 with Grix at 13, or on the bench in place of McCarthy or Dwyer

There again he could be the banana skin for the big pack and cause problems, he has to start somewhere to learn how to play them

| What worries me, long term, is the absence of Monas M. If TS sees the CC as important, would he have risked Monas in this game? Or is our only aim to get to OT?

| If O/T was our 'only' aim then TS would not have rested so many key players last week.
Perhaps Monas M is closer than we think but this would not be a match to risk a player who would not yet be match fit.
Lets hope we see Monas back against Wakey / Widnes.

| We won't beat them by playing a load of loose-forwards out of position. We'll need skill to break the Dragons down (we struggled last time). O'Brien should start.

| Yeah defo O'Brien to start, need two half backs on the pitch for this game, that's why we struggled against Salford. O'Brien has alot of potential so what better way to get it..

| Makes you wonder what state Monas was in when they played him for those couple of games.
I would go with Grix in the halves for his physical presence, let Briers call the shots on attacking plays with assistance from Hodgson.

| I had to listen on radio last weekend and going by the commentators grix was rather static in the halfs so its got to be O'brien for me if that was the case.

| Strange one that - very quiet on what's going on with Moz.
GOB in the halves
Blythe and Currie to miss out.
Gaz C was really impressive off the bench and I'd like to start with Wood and Hill but Cats pack is so big I think Gaz has to start with Woody coming on after 20 mins.

| I'd try and find a place for Currie if at all possible, for a number of reasons. With him, you've somebody on the bench who offers cover to the backs, he's got the pace & physique to cover centre should we get an injury like we lost Myler over last time within minutes.
He got MOM last week, I think he deserves to keep his place.
I know it's all about physicality against Catalans is the word, when we've won there we've won from deep. Last years win came through breakaways, intercepts etc, I think we need to have a strike threat about us and this may be from deep so I think we'll need some mobility.

| Think Currie won't play. Smith has a habit of easing the young players in, remember him saying somewhere that he doesn't want to risk serious injury or burn out by playing the youngsters too much

Good point but there's no need to rush his development. He's 17 and with plenty of "below par" teams in SL, he'll get his chances throughout the year. Stick with Tyke on the bench so we can match their physicality and then play off our superior outside backs when they've got the space.
Currie will probably be off to Leigh next year; they really seem to have the right set-up for our young guys and the experience does them wonders.
