Totally agree. Awful. Honestly can't understand how he's not been picked.

| Atkins, by his own admission, was shocking last time he played for England. Watkins has probably jumped ahead of him due to his impressive start to the season. Although what kris welham is doing in there is anybody's guess.

| Atkins has come on leaps and bounds since he last played for England 18 months ago, he's been the form centre of superleague since last summer scoring some spectacular tries and setting up numerous others for his winger.
LOL at Kris Welham's inclusion over him.

| Zak Hardaker and Kris Welham over Atkins - The mind boggles. Other than that you cannot argue with the squad.

| You can argue with Mcollurum. I know he has been good this year, but after several years of average performances and wigan fans saying they need to sign a hooker you have 4 good games and you are in the 'ELITE' training squad.

Interesting selection. Him and Roby gives MacBanana an excellent DH option.
The fact he's a Kiwi doesn't seem to matter though.

Born in Torquay though, so he is english.
Plus McIlorum was in the elite training squad last year when he wasn't playing as well as he is now. The team should be picked on who is playing well now, it's irrelevant if he was average for the last few years, as long as he's doing it now.
I REALLY dont understand why Atkins isn't in there. He is one of the top 3 or 4 centres in the league.

"SOME" Wigan fans.
He's developped nicely over the last couple of years and been steadily improving year on year.
The main problem is that "Some" fans want Tommy at 9 permanantly and will use any argument against MM to try & get TL in at 9.
MM has had plenty good games over the last couple of years hence his inclusion last year in the England squad.
I'm really intrigued with the Henderson inclusion.
I think he's similar to Monaghan in many ways and does certain things better than Roby and to be honest I would look at utuilising Roby at 9 in shorter spells at international level.
PS
Atkins non-inclusion is astounding especially given the inclusion of Welham & Hardaker.

| Atkins exclusion is a bit silly really, he must just have something against the lads attitude or behaviour whilst he's been in the camp previously, because it can't be on performances.

3 or 4? Name these three who you rate higher. For me, Watkins has the potential to be better but so far hasn't delivered the quantity of performance that Atkins has. Who has been better over the past 12 months?

And should be applauded for taking this stance. Everybody needs to be 100% committed to the cause to avoid the potential for dis-harmony that would seem to have affected the last world cup campaign.
Good to see Bridge included, we need a player who is man enough to stand up to the big Aussies backs and not be scared of them.

Or drop on them with an elbow while they are defence-less. I'd rather we had Atkins there, as said with Reed. Narked that the old guard of Morley and Peacock keep getting picked too, not exactly building a team for the world cup.

Thing is there is nobody better than Morley and Peacock in Super League. You've got the likes of Mossopp at Wigan but he's yet to do more than a couple of months at Super League level without his shoulder popping out and then Prescott is struggling at NL2 level. I'd imagine Chris Hill will be ready to replace Morley or Peacock in the England squad in 12 months time.
Either way first choice props will be Graham and Burgess come world cup time.

| Maybe Atkins doesn't want anything to do with the England set up (I am guessing). I wouldn't risk getting an injury while in the best team in super league [history for a go at being beaten by the aussies and New Zealand.
Poor attitude but I want Warrington to win some trophies and Atkins is key to that.
Also, seriously...
