Wigan and Warrington Under 20s will battle it out in this seasons Valvoline Cup Grand Final this coming Saturday (1st October). Kick off is 1.00pm at Leigh Sports Village.

Admission is £5 for Adults and £3 for Concessions, payable on the day.

Please come along if you can and cheer on the young Wire lads as we aim to put some more silverware into the Halliwell Jones trophy cabinet.

I would imagine to get the "large following" something will have to be done about the ticket prices. The RFL should be giving discounts to season ticket holders.

Must admit I was suprised their wasn't a discount for season ticket holders but then again the RFL have had to hire LSV.

I thought the final had to be played at the home venue of the senior team so why is this not being played at the DW Stadium and if there stadium was not available why has it not reverted to the HJ?

I'm glad it is at a neutral venue; it will feel more like a final. Its not as if Leigh is that far away or that £5 is that much to spend.

A fivers ok for me on my own, cant see many families shelling out for this after friday night though. Especially as Season Ticket holders have got in free to every other game.

Just to put current pricing "debates" for this and play-offs into concept: Warrington Town admission prices this season are adults £8.00 juniors £5.00.

I heard their is scheduled maintenance being done at the DW to coincidice with the end of rugby at the ground for 2011.

As for Warrington, I assume its because your ground will be being set up for the Championship Finals on Sunday. I.E changing all the advert boards to "Co-Operative" and such like. With you playing Friday they only have Saturday to get it prepared for Sunday. Wouldn't surprise me if they pain the sponsor logos onto the pitch as well.

Either way it's not ideal but I think Leigh is a fair compromise. It's not that far. Shame though that for the third year in a row we (Wigan) play an Academy Grand Final on the same day as a first team fixture!

Would have loved to have gone but the amateur game is in full swing. It's a shame but the crowd will be affected because of the timing.

We got beat by dumb, simple rugby. 1 out and DH scoots pretty much all game and was constantly finding holes behind the ruck - Must have made 5-6 line breaks at least. Similar story to yesterday, lessons to be learned.

Pretty depressing weekend all in all. Reaching the final is still a great achievment though, hopefully some of the lads will kick on and have a real impact on the first team at some point.

I thought the same thing, how many times did our markers both jump the same way leaving a hole behind the ruck?

The team also didn't seem to want to spread the play with ball in hand either. Regardless, the game still could have gone either way for most of the eighty minutes.

Thought we didn't have a youth set up.. ...Oh
