Not crap but down the pecking order in the second row spots at Wigan, Farrell, Tuson, Hughes, Burke etc.

Bridge is undoubtedly a good player, that's why he's been picked a few times for the academy international side. Rogues is right though, he's behind Farrell, Tuson, Hughes and Burke in the pecking order so his chances of breaking into the first team would be limited, especially since Hock and O'Loughlin still have about five years left in them, Hansen is only in his mid twenties as is Joel Tomkins if he returns to the pack.
It's the same situation as with Molloy and Sarsfield (also an academy international) last year, they have talent but it's in a position where Wigan have a lot of strength in depth.
It seems like a sensible move to further his career.

see now your at it! how do you know the terms of his release from wigan? your ability to disguise a slight on a players ability is somewhat lacking. is it concievable that wigan might have wanted to keep a under 18's international in their squad and in fact he is better/ has the potential to be better than the players you list as higher on the pecking order???
oh forget i posted, it's not worth the arguement, i should learn not to rise to the bait!
please don't even bother giving an answer!

Please go ahead I don't remember ever singing his praises, but I've never said he's crap either. He is in exactly the same position as Matty Sarsfield and Jonny Molloy were when they left to go to Huddersfield.

not that i'm biased but he's gonna set the world on fire when he comes to the wire

Fair enough, but I honestly don't remember posting it, was it a while ago?
Who was I on about in the first place?
Anyway it appears Danny asked to be released from his Wigan contract and Wigan/Wire have agreed a compensation fee

Thread called "Young Players to look out for" on VT just before start of this season.

I remember you going on about him as I didn't know he was Chris's brother until I saw it on Wigan board.
Matthew Russell still looking a good one for the future?

Cheers, that was back in January.
Russell is doing very well, is quick and elusive. He has played mainly in the U20's but I noticed he played in the U18's over the weekend when the U20's game was called off (Huddersfield couldn't raise a team)
The best young player I saw last year was Stevie Ward from Leeds and Sargeson (sp) from Quins is probably the standout this year.

| Sarginson really impressing me, he tore you apart at The Stoop and was impressive against us, can't see him staying at Quins more than 2 seasons unless he wants to stay.

He plays fullback for the 18's and 20's but has played wing for them and for England academy.
In that original post that you kindly dug out I also mentioned another couple of players, Carberry and Burke. They are progressing well and indeed Wigan will have to fight off Wire for Greg Burkes signature when his contract ends, they have been showing interest I have been informed.
Carberry is a Terry Newton style hooker in that he is very strong, but probably needs to work on his distribution, a major problem with English hookers in our game I'm sorry too say.

yes it's an interesting one that Rougues about Greg Burke as when I heard last week about Danny Bridge signing for Warrington Greg Burkes name was mentioned at the same time as having signed for Warrington too. We will just have to watch this space as time will tell.

| We will be seeing quotes like 'better than the Tomkins brothers" soon then lol.
Wigan are murder for letting players like him go to rival teams lol.
Enjoy.
