Cant say as a Wigan fan I would be overly pleased with us signing him, reason being whenever i've seen him hes always played better on the wing than in the centres. And with Richards, Charnley, Goulding and Roberts contracted to 2012 we're hardly short on Wingers. With a big fat 0 centres signed for next year (unless JTomkins counts) we're looking abit short there.

So your saying you'd rather have an unproven winger in Charnley play in your 'world class' team than a world class player in King.
And also Goulding, and Roberts. I'd rate King as a better wing/ than all 3 of them tbh.

No. What I am saying is a centre is a priority. I would rather us sign an out and out centre seeing as we have so many Wingers.

I think it's called playing your young talented local lads rather than spending a heap on imports instead... You should try it one day

Back on topic. I previously said I wouldnt be suprised if he was in talks with Wigan because of the Melbourne connection with MacGuire and other ex Melbourne players at Wigan. Now that the coach is leaving, along with Hoffman next year, I would be very suprised.

We all know he's back off to Oz next year.

Matt King is a better winger than anyone you have, he is also a better centre than anyone you have. (he's probably as good as most of your second rowers as well

The only player you listed that could oust him from a team is Pat Richards, and then only if you were missing a goal kicker.

I'd be surprised if he signed for you, but if he does i will cheer him when we play you.

I reckon money isn't the problem, with the players we have leaving we would have enough on the cap to sign him. He probably wants to go back to aus though.

I would take him though, he could get in our team at right centre or wing, although I wouldn't want anyone taking Charnleys place as he is playing well. He is currently a better centre than Joel Tomkins though so he would be a good signing, can't really see it though.

i wouldn't be overly bothered if he does go to wigan... at the end of the day its all about the money.. i dont care if he said he will only play for wire.... if the pies offer him a 2/3 year deal, and offer more money than anyone else, I would expect him to go and play for them.

Anyway.....didn't we have the option on him for another season if we wanted to take it? If he leaves it will be because Smith thinks his cap space will be better spent elsewhere.

The guy on our board has a good record with rumours and seems pretty sure he is definately in talks with us (and was in talks with Saints) We'll just have to see what happens eh!

It's no secret he wants to go back to auz..... but if the money on offer over there isnt up to what he is being offered over here, then he will probably stay in england.
