| Heard a lot of news on Matt King's recovery time but any news on Ben Evans? Did his injury turn out to be the same as Matt's or different? He will be a top player in years to come and it would be good to get some equally good news as Matt's.
Any info gratefully received!
Cheers

I think he scored 3 may have been 4, Ryan Shaw scored 3 as well

No it isn't.
What good does that do Warrington or HKR youngsters?

| Hull KR carried on playing to the 80th minute. Really tried to get on the scoreboard. Shows character.
Warrington team had one player who had played first team (Rhys for one match). However, the team has a settled look. With Riley already a first team regular and with 2 x Rhys and Ryan Shaw, we could have an (almost) home grown 3/4 line in a few years.

Have a look through my posts for the last five years about academy rugby and you'll see what I mean.
And I'm talking from a RL perspective and from watching a team that has coasted winning the last three U20 academy finals.

Come on Rouges of course it's a good result
The benefits are it gives our lads confidence, and boosts their well being and the benefit to HKR is it builds character and also shows them that having a first team of about 11 'foreigner' is only a short term solution.
We'll have tougher days and i'm sure there'll be easier days.
That's like saying the 80's were no benefit to Wigan when the rest of us were fighting for the scraps Wigan left us.
Come on give credit were it is due, i know it hurts saying positive things about Wire when you're a pie

You know my stance on this and I'm very consistent on it. That scoreline, looks good (and from a Wire pov I understand the post)
However, from a RL pov it doesn't help. The HKR players will have gone away thinking what have we done and the Wire lads, this is too easy.
It doesn't prepare either side for the next level, which is what academy rugby should be about.
It's not anti Wire, it's just a poor indication of the state of our game in general at academy level. Prime example being the recent win against Australia when our two teams provided 80% of the players.

Or how poor the majority of MOST other teams youth systems are, which trust me is sadly much closer to the truth.

Come off it mate. You knew I was talking about it being a great result for Wire, maybe not for acedemy RL but it's a damn good result for us. Putting 62 on any team, without conceeding is a great result for any team.

Do you think it was a "great result" for academy Rugby League?
And that was the point I was making, and have been making even when Wigan were putting similar scores on the likes of Leeds and Saints.

No, obviously not a great result for "RL", as we want to make the competetion as close and as competetive as we can. I Interpreted my comment about "great result" towards Wire because it is a great result for Warrington, isn't it not? I think you've misread it, Rogues.

I did, and as you have pointed out I was mistaken.
It's just that I've had this argument so many times with Wigan fans when our academy team has been walloping other teams. It really doesn't help them in their preparation for the next level, hence why so many of our young player are going out on loan (the academy league isn't strong enough)
I don't want to hijack the thread, but would it not be a good idea to let the stronger academy teams play in the Championship, thus allowing them to stay (and be still coached) with their parent clubs?
Wigan went to and beat Barrow in a pre season friendly in a really competitive game, which is what we need to develop the youngsters.
As you can see this is a subject I an very passionate about.
And I also stated that I would have given up last years Wigan Superleague victory for a RL four nations and World Cup win.

It's a fabulous result. One thing Warrington have failed to do in Superleague is turn pressure into points. Maybe the new generation of Wire player has the killer instinct. Maybe HKR realise that they need to improve

| And I think this is the Warrington board? Last week we had a horrendous time in Cardiff, now our U20s give us something to smile about and someone has to come and spoil it.

I don't think you know the Wire lads mate. I can assure you that they were not thinking that it was too easy.
