In recent weeks we've seen Morley, Briers and Harrison rested so Smithy is not afraid to rest anyone. With the semi round the corner, with it being all Catalan are playing for, I worry they will try to injure our key players on Saturday. Any thoughts as to if we should rest anyone in light of this?

I suppose if anyone needs to be rested, probably the next in line after Morley etc would be Monaghan.

No - Catalans won at Saints 2 weeks ago & historically have beaten teams that took them too lightly (Wigan on at least 2 occassions). We should play strongest possible side and look to get a psychological advantage before the semi.

Skents asked him about this. I'd guess from his answer that someone will be "rested". However, it's more with a view to getting the best out of players over the rest of the season and nothing to do with the semi final specifically. We have a maximum of 11 games left....

ive already said this somewhere,id like to see mona's and westwood rested,just my opinion. them to rested for saints game would be a big boost.

So I doubt Westwood will be rested.

Lets hope its nothing serious and hope that they are just being 'rested'.

No arguments about that squad. Only slight worry is if Mathers is dropped it may hammer his confidence for next few important weeks although thats if he returns to the side?

Hopefully they just have minor knocks and Smith wont risk them at this stage of the season.

Dont think anyone can be rested as catalan are a big physical side who are getting all there players back now, you could possible rest riley and give evans a game so he can be with his new born

I suspect Louis and Woody are being rested - Vinnie and Coops slot in with no real loss. Only other thing I would change is start with Clarke at 9 with Monas on the bench. If Clarke and the team go well, no need to bring Monas on but he's there just in case.

80 mins ? he's not played top level for months, unless him and Vinnie interchange i can't see it happening ?

If Clarke plays 80 minutes i'll give up my mortgage.

I'm sure he won't. But he may manage 50 or 60 which would give Monas a good break. As Yed has pointed out, Vinnie could also interchange from the bench which he has done before. Harrison and Westwood to start in the back row with either the Big Man or Grix at 13.

Catalan away is a tough trip for a fully strength side. Weaken it just for the sake of resting players and we will get turned over. Thats not what we need if we're challenging for that top spot.
