| as the England squad will be announced in the next few hours, who do you think deserves a place in the squad, judging by performances this season.. I hear Jamie Carragher has come out of retirement and could be chosen.
Do you think we have a chance to win it this season?

It's been done mate.
Carra is in, as is King, Bent, J.Cole, Parker, Dawson.
No 'real surprises' as such, about an hour ago, there seemed to be a trail of thought that Scholes may have been named in the 30, but nothing has come of that.

He's in also.
Capello has used the depth of the 30 to pretty much in some cases go head to head it seems, ie ...
Warnock & Baines will both compete for the one back up left back spot.
Carrick & Parker (assuming Barry is fit come WC) compete for the back up holding role spot.
Walcott, SWP & Lennon compete for two wide right slots (although you could argue Walcott goes as half & half, forward & midfielder.
Be interesting to see who makes the 23, couple of friendlies and a training camp for Capello to assess on.

I guess he's somewhat unlucky that he plays in a position that England are somewhat stocked. A fortnight ago, he'd have been 'two places higher' in the pecking order but Carragher & King have jumped him.
I rate him higher than Upson & Lescott that's for sure.
Shame for him really, when it seemed like he was starting to get real recognistion, he snapped his leg.

No
We have too many players that are either past their best or havn`t shown any worthwhile form for a fair while, then you have others that are overrated.
We have one genuine world class player and thats Rooney, you then have the likes of Terry and Ferdinand who are overrated and both of them have looked as ropey as sin during parts of this season. I don`t rate Glen Johnson one bit and he`s the likley right back, Ashley Cole does some good things going forward but can be ropey in defence and inconsistent.
He`s picked 3 keepers where 2 of them are notorious for their blunders, in my opinion Joe Hart has been the best of the english keepers this season but Capello will probably go for either James or Green.
In midfield you have the likes of Gerrard who according to Liverpool fans has been awful this year and isn`t the player of old, then you have Lampard hasn`t done a great deal in an England shirt. Out wide on the right it will either be Wright Phillips or Lennon you would think, i just hope its Lennon as Wright Phillips can be brilliant one minute but he gives the ball away too easily and their isn`t a great deal at the end of his runs. On the left i hope its James Milner who has looked excellent for Villa this year.
I rate Crouch, he`s certainly far better than Heskey as a target man. He has great footwork for a guy of his size, he wins most balls in the air and he weighs in with a fair few goals.
I`d say the positives for England would be a fully fit Rooney and Crouch up front, the pace and danger of Lennon on the right with an in form James Milner on the left. I`d like to see either Michael Dawson or Ledley King replace either one of Ferdinand and Terry because that looks a nightmare pairing.

I can't see past Spain, Argentina or Brazil winning it. Ivory Coast could be dark horses.
