I`m just amazed that an official can`t spot a pass thats obviously gone a mile forward when he is stood right in line with the play, that pass frm Amos Roberts to Sam Tomkins was comical in how far it travelled forward, it wasn`t even borderline. For that pass to have gone backwards first and then travel forward Wigan would have needed a 150mph wind behind them



It was that try that lifted Wigan and gave them momentum in the 2nd half, would Ganson have let the same pass go if the score had been 10-8 ?

Probably not....... I was just amazed at how far it travelled forward yet none of the officials could spot it including Ganson who was right in line with the play and had the best view.

TBH, I thought when I saw it that Ganson wasn't near it and the touch judge was definitly out of position.

Despite the "coulds" and "shoulds", what matters here and now is that Warrington's resolve held up in the end and they didn't let it get to them.

If the video ref had given the Carmont 'try', when Ganson had already called a scrum and players had stopped, then you would have been screwed again.

He was right in line with the play, he was looking down the 20 metre line and had a perfect view of it, he even had the 20 metre line to help him as a guide.

I just thought it was amazing he allowed the try, probably a sympathy vote with the score being what it was at the time, i doubt he would have give it with a closer scoreline as he would have been crucified for it from all corners.

He nearly cost Warrington a deserved final place with a shocking call.

What about the Riley knock on or the rest of the shocking calls he made against us?

The point I am making is that Ganson was not bad for warrington alone.

The thing that could of cost you the game is your team going to sleep.

Those, for mine, appeared to be the only howlers he made. Generally, I didn't think he was too bad. Why he went to the screen after awarding that penalty though...

he did have the best view, because camera angles are deceptive, thats why they dont go to the video ref for forward passes, weve got to wembley why do people always have a go at the officials , if your that concerned why not have a go at officiating yourself, i am sure warrington ref society would welcome any new members.

Ganson seemed to have set his mind that if the goons lose then he's not going to be blamed. He gave them every 50/50, missed a pass that was well forward and went to the screen whenever Wigan asked him to. Suppose it just makes your victory even better as they can't blame th ref

alledgedly ganson is the best ref in superleague,catergorically i would say he's a cheat on todays evidence,4 trys for us scored under his nose and he goes to the screen,an outrageous forward psss/knock on he gives it under the sticks,he still could not do enough to deny us,.

right 2 things westwoods try should av been given..and your 1st..we had to wait 5 mins for a try that was`nt and then you still got the penalty...and a 10 yard forward pass for the merecat to score...and he`s well over rated

TBH, I would say he's been the best this year.

I thought Westwoods was 50/50, but I don't understand him going to the screen after awarding a penalty. The forward pass seemed to be one of the few clangers he made today.

the riley incident , could or should have been given as a knock on its no different than 2 players clashing in a big hit and the ball carrying player losing control of the ball and getting injured in the process and play carrying on, i think ganson was sympathetic as wigan could have had the scrum and six tackles and were on a roll and not give us the first tackle, so to say ganson nearly cost us the game is a bit harsh.

The thread doesn`t say that, it says that Ganson could have cost us the game today in a closer game, i went on to say if that if the game had been a lot closer at lets say 10-8 then i doubt very much he would have given it.

You see many a try given in SL when they clearly wasn`t tries where one of the teams has a commanding lead and then the opposition scores, it seems like a sympathy vote to the team thats getting well beaten, its like the refs are thinking it won`t affect the end result so we will let it go, it could have affected the result today as that try lifted Wigan and gave them big momentum and you got within one score if us with enough time left to win the game.

Ganson never gives forward passes

I must admit that got me completely confused. At first I thought the BBC had got confused and that the video referee was simply looking to see how to restart the game. Yet it kept going on and on, until the replays of checking whether Carmont was in touch or not when putting the ball down.

Surely the Video referee also saw that Ganson blew the whistle and stopped the game prior to Carmont going over.

It would have been the worst decision in the history of RL had it been given AFTER the game was stopped.

without the men in the middle we would have no game , so give the officials a break they have to make split second decisions sometimes, why not take up the whistle yourself if you think you can do a better job. cmon the wire

Refs are full time professionals, they get paid for doing a job they obviously enjoy as they wouldn`t do it otherwise. The decision i refered too wasn`t even marginal, it was a good 5-10 yard forward and thats basic stuff for someone that was very well positioned.
