that was the first game i ever left early after travelling over 24 hours from the Shetlands to see it. My dad didn't even make it to the game from Warrington due to the weather. I also went to a London Bronco's game when they were in the 2nd division laying out of Barnet and there was only 2 of us behind the sticks during the first half getting pee wet through.

There was a game at Watersheddings in the 80s, horizontal sleet.

Also, a game at Post Office Road where Phil Blake scored when he lost his boot. It was at the time where quite a few main stands burnt down. It rained none stop and I remember standing next to a portacabin for cover.

The kids these days don't know how lucky they are!

Any game at Watersheadings, most of the time it's was snow and an orange ball needed to be used.

New Years day 1989, Leeds at home, it was 8-8 awful.

Oh and Barrow away in the cup a few years back when the terracing was a waterfall. The one were Kidwell said he couldn't play in the rain.

halifax away in 99, they were building the new stands but hadn't put the roof on yet, the rain was so bad you were getting wet from below as well as above.

In recent years that has to be the worst conditions ,at times you couldn't see the other side of the pitch it was raining that hard and before the game it was nice and sunny and the folkes in the east stand were sat there in t-shirts very wet ones by the end of the game


I was glad I was in the southstand and was nice and dry !

And yet came off the bench and won us the match.

Warrington v Bradford December 1995- midweek and the temperature plummeted - it was way below freezing by the time the game finished- people were literally shivering with cold , my mate told me he sat in the car after the game with heaters on full blast for 15 minutes to try and thaw out before even attempting to drive-

i remember that, there was a thin layer of mist hanging over the pitch at foot hight, bloody freezing.

Alan Cattrall was the bloke who tackled the Oldham mascot,ims,the mascot squared upto him.

My worst game would have been Wire/Haven late 70s. pee'd down all game,2 foot of mud and Haven won 1-0.

One of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life.

The mascot didn't square up to him, as the Wire fan was walking back to the crowd celebrating his tackle, the Oldham Bear was dusting himself down, and ran from about 20m to tackle him from behind into a load of slush! It was awesome because all the fans could see the Bear coming, but this fan couldn't. He didn't take it too well and chased the bear before stewards stopped him.

I missed most of the second half due to laughing at this.

Think that was the game when an advertising board blew onto the pitch near us in the south stand.
