Smith and Lowes both failed to turn up at the HJ last night at Warrington's youth development, attended by many kids who were thrilled to be meeting Tony Smith for the first time, Andrew Farrell's father who is a kid scout at Warrington stood in at the last moment.

It was a major dissappointment for those kids but on the other hand it was said that both Smith and Lowes had flew out to France that day to speak with Sonny Bill Williams about a move to Warrington for the 2010 season. There is also speculation that he may even be here by next month.

Every speculation is rumor until its a done deal.
Smith and Lowes were to attended the youth development meeting last night and they didn't show, Andrew Farrell's stood in. That is fact.

He wasn't mate. The issue of the guardian would have been printed too late to alter that.
But that statement does tell you that he was supposed to have been the the headliner at the meeting.
Farrell's dad took that roll...Why not Lowes? He is in France with Smith!

No it isn't Jimmy Lowes was throwing a frisbee in Bank Park, I saw him as myself and Tony Smith made our way to my house so Smith could check out my ingrowing toe nail.

No it absolutely isn't fact at all.

Lats night was the launch at the HJ of this years service area, the squads have been selected and there where a few speakers before the lads and parents had to fill in forms and have their squad photos taken.

Tony Smith was meant to be attending together with John Bastian but neither of them made it. Bastian was at Red Hall with an academy player and Tony Smith had been unable to make it.

There was a little funny cracked about TS being in talks with Darren Lockeyer but thats all it was a Joke.

Alan Kilshaw Service Area CoOrdinator opened the evening followed by Ben Lazenby and then Brian Chambers.

Peter Farrell was not even in attendance

On that note:-

Am I alone in thinking that signing SBW (assuming there is even a shred of truth in the rumour) would be an outrageous gamble for at least 2 reasons:-

1- His injury record; and
2 - His well documented 'attitude' problems

Don't get me wrong, I'd back Tony Smith to get Freddy Krueger on the straight and narrow but wouldn't this be the challenge of his life?

Maybe Tony likes a challenge. I very much doubt he is talking to SBW, we are ok in the position that he plays, where we need to strengthen I think is in the halfs and pretty quickly to hopefully.

Couldn't he just take on Gazza!

We are ok in his position at the moment but if the clearout continues there may well be a squad place for him.

TBH I really don't want to know who he is talking to or not talking to ,What I do care about is our lack of depth in the backs and our slowness in movement on replacing Gleeson with 1 or preferably 2 on permanent or even loan deals depending on the quality ,it worries me that we may go the rest of the season playing forwards in the back-line or is it just a case of survive the season sign nobody and build in the off season for next year ,if that is the case I would be looking for a reduction in next seasons, season ticket prices due to the fact that this seasons has been a waste of money and I will not be signing up for my regular D-D scheme until some sort of statement on the way forward is made regarding this and next season and the price for next season is confirmed or maybe I may cherry pick my games for the 1st time in 39yrs of watching the Wire.

You have a habit of telling stories which often turn out to be true, I assume though that you are not willing to name names though on this one?
