Just a quick note to say, Cheshire Cats RLFC officially start April 8th at Lymm RFC. We are running an under 12s team and will be competing in the summer Midlands League which starts in May.
Without sounding shameless, I'm trying to raise our profile. We have recently received 2 fantastic grants, 1 from O2 its your community to buy equipment with and one from Warrington CVS to provide coaching sessions.
More details will be posted on www.cheshirecatsrl.co.uk and all volunteers plus players new to the game will be made welcome.

|
O2 sponsor grants up to £1000 for community based projects. The form is dead easy and they meet monthly, takes 5 minutes to fill out and out of all the forms I've filled in it was the easiest.
Couple of days after applying I received a call from the organisation that runs the grant fund - The Conservation Foundation, they wanted more info of how the money would benefit the community, Friday I received a cheque to be used on equipment. As a new club this is priceless.
Have you had any dealings with sportsmatch?

I was talking to my dad only last week about how it's a shame the Grappenhall Griffins aren't going anymore, and yet the Wolves have a huge amount of support in south Warrington without an amateur club to call their own. Hope it goes well.

starting off with 12s, to get the ball rolling, looking at adding new age groups each season. I hope the 12s develop into 13s and we have enough demand to keep the 12s, we're also looking at the possibility of an 8s for next year.
Theres no point launching a team without gauging demand, we're treating this as a business - and I think it shows with the people who we've put in place running the club both on and off the field

NWC are governed by Barla, Midlands is governed by the RFL, theres 2 governing bodies covering 2 different seasons.
No one is excluded but we're not here to cheery pick or poach other teams players, the ethos is to get more kids in to the game, one which we would fail if we flooded the team full of Woolston, Rylands & Crosfields kids |
