What a tough match.
Always new it would be.
Saints were better in the first half and we were under pressure for a long time and at 14-6 I thought it could all go badly wrong but the guys hung in there and defended for all their lives.
So to be 14-12 down at half time I was relieved and thought things had to turn in the 2nd half at some point, but to win 22-4 in that 2nd half was awesome.

Many players deserve a mention, but Woody and Cooper made a real impression (Was Cooper kept back until the 2nd half? He sure had 3-4 guys hanging off him every time he took the ball in, and still made yards).
Top performance by Waterhouse - 2nd week running
MMonaghan caused them lots of trouble and Briers did what Briers does best.

TS got his tactics right and again Hodgeson was pivotal - saved 2 certain tries, kicked 5 goals, laid on at least 1 final pass that head to a try. Messed up a bomb and Saints thought we'd be vulnerable to that tactic in the 2nd half, but we weren't (partly because their execution wasn't as good as it could have been).

The team has real steel and belief and fully deserved the win.

Coops was immense....as was Woody.

there were a lot of very good performances out there tonight...everyone of them had a part to play..and let nobody down.....that's the real difference with this Wire team...no weak links.

Cooper was awesome in the second half.... and paul wood. Both players layed the foundation for the backs and really took the game to the saints pack tonight.... second half we were the warrington that everyone fears. The pack dominated and the backs were electric.

How good was Brett Hodgson?.....unreal...... its no wonder he got a 2 year contract.... he rolled back the years tonight.

Its hard to find any faults tonight... well apart from Higham in the first half, who was playing NFL.

All in all, a well deserved victory against a well drilled defence that just couldn't cope under the pressure exerted on them once thaler put his whistle away.

Higham was playing NFL but after he watched Thaler in the Catalan Leeds game he probably thought they were the rules.

did he come back on after he was subbed? i don't remember seeing him again.

Was a little worried when I saw Carvell on the sidelines but Coops more than did the job.

For me that try just before half time was crucial. Meant we went in with our tails up knowing we were right in the game. You could see that in their body language going off the pitch.

When Saints scored before that I though it was going to be a repeat of two weeks ago.

I think the Waterhouse thread needs bumping one more time!

Sure he was on at the end, may be wrong.

Perhaps we could go back and bump the first Waterhouse thread.

yeah..Mickey H didn't have a brilliant 1st half..so he only gets 8/10...everyone else gets 10/10!

Thought Cooper was the game changer, he had a big impact on turning things around to dominate our pack. Waterhouse finished things off, very good reader of the game.

I thought Waterhouse was MOM personally. Coops was awesome and Grix was brilliant but the whole team were immense as a unit well done to you all!!

Bit of a headache for the final if Carvell is fit.. After tonight I really hope Coops doesnt get dropped!!!

Coops was fantastic and really did what Soliola (however its spelt, sorry) did to us the other week.

Was really worried about the amount of effort we'd put in defensively in the first half but we got stronger as the game went on .... didn't want it to end!

thought the same thing myself... but 5 mins into the second half those worries were gone.

we came out and blew them away with pure aggression and power.

TS said he had a different game plan for the St Helens game. Dont know what it was but it sure as hell worked!!!!

Second half was excellent,first half we just did enough to keep it respectable...

Cooper was very good at the making the hard yards....

Higham only made one forward pass the other one was a very good flat ball,which Leeds have been doing all season and getting away with it.

Woodys off loaded with three men on him which led to Simon Grixs [u Crucial[/u try just before half time.
Then in the 2nd Coops massive leg drive again carrying three men with him helped set up Trent's try.

Both of these moments came at crucial times and without them our evening would have been much more difficult.

Brilliant performance last night and as much as it gives me a lump in my throat hope you go on to win it next week, after all you were the most consistant team after Wigan

True, what's more, Saints threw several forward passes which Thaler missed, and were offside most of the match. Not worth getting wound up about given the overwhelming win, but on another occasion could have cost us.

Based up that performance it would be rather difficult to throw Carvell straight back in there.

I may be in a minority here but feel i must post on behalf of Mickey Higham. Everybody seems to look at his mistakes and go a bit OTT. Does nobody ever appreciate the fact that he has probably the best tackling technique, and stats, in the whole team. People should start looking at his good points rather than concentrating on his failings, of which, all players have.His commitment and desire is second to none and, believe it or not, he can actually play a bit. Keep up the good work Mickey and good luck next week!!!!!!!!
