Well if you are wanting to watch the NRL, State of Origin and the Championship, then your choices are limited because Premier Sports only operate on the Sky platform.
So if you are still wanting to watch the Super League, then I'm afraid you are going to have to cough up for Sky Sports.
But in order to answer your question; yes I feel Sky Sports is worth the money. I not only watch the Super League, I watch the golf, the cricket, the football. I also subscribe to Premier Sports because it carries the NRL, the championship RL, the Gaelic Games and also the NHL, and I also get BT Sport/ESPN free for the next 12 months and in HD.
Definitely value for money.

Aah, that's pretty good. I just assumed that the player was for existing subscribers only, but if you can subscribe without the need for a sky subscription, then that is probably the best course of action for the OP.

Because BT Sport have taken over the running of ESPN and it now falls as part of the BT Sports package, and because Virgin don't carry BT Sport at the moment, then VM subscribers can no longer have access to ESPN.

DOuble edged sword for me where I am. As it's a new development, at the moment we can't get superfast fibre optic internet, so have to make do with normal broadband. But with BT, get BT Sport free whereas everyone else has to pay nearly £15 for the privilege.

| If you know someone who is subscribed to sky sports, get them to allow you to use "Sky Go" in their name on your PC. That way you can watch sky sports. The quality is OK but not as good as the real thing.

| Is it not THE Sky Sports watching THE Super League and THE Warrington Wolves against THE Wigan Warriors and THE English against THE French and THE the? How does Eddie to on with Hull FC/KR?does he call them THE FC and THE Rovers?
With them dropping the NRL and State of Original as well as the Aussie play-offs, I'm getting a bit sick of Sky towards RL.

| According to the FAQs on the Premier Player site :
The player is available to view on all popular web browsers and all major devices including Iphone, Ipad and Android
Note: Android based phones will need to download an app from the Google Play Store - called "Sol HLS", once this is installed head over to the premier player website on your mobile and click the link to to the video.

This is what I am on about, the cost has gone up ten fold but coverage overall has been slashed and as for Eddie and Stevo I would prefer somebody just to commentate the game like Ray French used too, sick of the rubbish they keep spouting

"Syuperb"
"They have to utilise the high bomb!" *they kick a grubber*
"Will they utilise the blind side?" *they come inside*
"Tony Smith realises...it's as simple as that"
I do like Stevo, he's a real RL man, but his commentary... Him and Eddie still debate the momentum rule as if it's a new thing. The best thing they've done recently is put Cummins in the commentary team.
I'm glad I read this thread as I didn't know that Premier Sports had the online platform that I can watch on my tablet.

| I subscribed to Sky Sports for the past few years through Virgin at the cost of £25 a month.
Thought it was well worth it as I watched loads of football, RL, NFL etc.
In the last year or so, my sports viewing has really dropped since the birth of my daughter.
I reviewed my subscriptions a few months back and worked out it was far cheaper to pay for NFL Game Pass so I could watch every NFL game live and I have access to Sky Sports via the laptop using my dads Sky Go account.
It's not as good as having Sky Sports on the big screen, but my main reason for Sky is the NFL and with Game Pass I can watch all my teams games live rather than being restricted to what Sky are showing.
The quality of Sky Go on the 17" laptop screen is really good as well, and it also means I can watch sports whilst the wife watches the rubbish on the normal channels
Is Sky Sports value for money? Depends how much you watch it. If you only watch the 2 live Super League games a week then it probably isn't worth it.

| If you are only into one sport then any sports channel is not worth the money.... Personally, I love Cricket, Football, Rugby League and Boxing, as well as having a passing interest in other sports, so Sky Sports is great value for me and worth the outlay.
Looking at BT Sport, I don't see a future for a channel that is selling itself primarily on Premier League Football (and a limited amount at that) and expect it to go to the wall pretty quickly.... I'm not sure a diet of foreign league football and women's tennis will entice too many casual sports fans.... Also, their plan for enticing Sky customers to switch their phone and broadband packages over to them, is likely to be unsuccessful now that Sky are virtually giving their package away to existing customers. After I told a BT Sport staff member over the phone last night, the price of my package, he openly admitted they were miles away from being able to match the price I'm paying Sky.
