Very plucky defeat where Saints take the lead early (a la Wigan away) and we valiantly fight back for 60 mins only for Saints to seal it with 10 mins to go. Nevertheless us Wires find enough in defeat to give us enough encouragement for the next big game and the playoffs whilst simultaneously giving up on the top 2 amid "this time last year" arguments. I also expect a Woody facebook post the day after inviting me to Crosfields (or equivalent) to join in a quiz/event of some sort to bolster his testimonial without reference to the latter. Mathers to twitter about doing even more extras and Briers to be out ed with the Hattons lot in an almost laissez faire manner. Day in the life of a modern Wire vs Saints game.

Followed by a smug looking Skents interview of Tony Smith asking if we'll ever beat Saints and Tony Smith looking nervous and restless telling us how he's 'looking forward to the next game and we've learned some lessons from the game but he's not worried' the usual cliched stuff we hear week in week out. Great stuff YED but, sadly, you missed out on the invite to speculate wildly on away following/transportation/seat allocation, best boozers with hardest bouncers (alive or dead) and Sally's "I told you so and I even backed up my assertion by impeccable research which I did not share with you before the event but that doesn't matter" missive. To be fair to Skent he is in a difficult position. If he asks uncomfortable, searching, almost journalistic quality, questions the club won't give him access. If that happens Culcheth Life would have to go back to "Mrs Miggins' prize marrows" or "Hoodies were inconsiderate to pensioner in CPS" stories.
