From what little iv'e seen of him he has looked a decent player. Would we not all want someone more expeienced? Lets not forget the boots he would have to fill. Can he come in and do what Briers does for us without taking a while to settle in?

How would it work with Briers having another year and Ratchford's contract being up at the end of this season?

And he's already played alongside Myler in the halves.

Really? Of all the young halfbacks knocking about, he is the one who has the attributes to make it. Fantastic passing game and good vision.

I had a feeling we may show interest in him. With the overseas quota being reduced these days we need to be shrewd and snap up the talent plying their trade on these shores. Ratchford, whilst not being a world beater yet, does demonstrate decent all round skills therefore it may be a good signing.

All speculation though.

As for Salford, I have the huge privilege of seeing them do their gym work in Walkden now i've moved to Manchester. Its gone from me training in the company of the Wire squad at Warrington Total fitness, to running on a machine next to a certain Pa'aleasina (who I may add, despite having love handles that could put out a fire, is probably fitter than me . . . .)!

He torn Catalan apart a few weeks ago, although he is only slight he was some neat footwork and very good hands. Wouldn't mind seeing him as an under study to Briers next season.

I'm far from convinced by him, decent player yes but to fill Briers boots considering he can't get the 6 jersey at Salford... No thanks I'd rather go hunting for a big name Aussie unless O'Brien really is as good as people are making him out to be!
