| For me I am left disappointed. For all his vocal bluster and "hot head" reputation his attacking stats this season are a resoundingly average 408 carries, 2617m, 6.41 avg gain.
I must admit I was hoping for much more when reading the hype when he was signed.

| In all fairness, the whole team hasn't had much "go forward" this year hence our poor league position.

| I didn't really buy in to the fact he was going to come over and 'rip it up', he had a good end to 2014, but prior to that had been an average NRL player. I think he has been solid for us.
Yes his m per carry stat isn't great, but he has the lowest error count of the regular starters - just 5 all year, and he tops the offload chart by a distance.
I think he has added something to our pack this season, and think he has been quick to jump in when our players are getting intimidated, but crucially, most of the time managed to keep a lid on things and not give away a penalty in those instances.

| For me Sims has been one of very few pluses this season. Without him this season, our pack would have been totally and utterly bullied off the park.

| I think we all tend to forget that these guys have travelled 12000 miles and uprooted their families and lifestyles. Try thinking how you would perform if you were going the other way or even how lost you have felt moving from one job to another. It takes time for players to adjust to new surroundings and feel comfortable (some do it quickly, others dont). So a year is nothing. Remember Matt King. I am sure that he will do better next season.

His average gain of 6.41 isnt up there with the likes of Hill and Walmsley.. But so what.. alot of props arent up there.
Only downside for me is a few silly moments that have resulted in suspensions.
Great signing for me.. works tirelessly, gives his all and makes very few mistakes.

| With the exception of the travel post, fair points. His tackle busts are very low though and he is the 3rd highest penalty offender. I think I probably had expectations set too high especially as it was a season to forget.

Great? You are comparing him against the performance of the Wire squad in general during a dismal season, not like for like against props of other clubs though.
A question I always like to pose, to objectively judge the quality of a Wire player, is "Would he get in the Saints, Wigan or Leeds starting 17".
Rationale being that the more you have that would, the more likely is the squad can compete with those teams. In 2011 we had a lot of players that would. Probably only Hill, Clarke now. Certainly not Sims.

ok, show me a prop from Leeds, Saints or Wigan that has been better than him on the stats this year.. other than Walmsley and Peacock.

Which stats would you like me to compare? I'm assuming not Avg Gain.
So in your mind he would make the pack at Leeds, Wigan or Saints for 2016? In my mind he wouldn't have made our pack in 2011.
Anyhow its sounds like I have got it in for him, which I haven't. He was probably one of our best 5 players last season...

| No he wouldn't have made our front row in 2011... But it's not 2011 is it?
And yes I think he would make the 17 in every team in SL.

| Sims's stats are the result of him not trying to make ground. He goes in soft, often on his way to his knees by the time the collision happens. That's why he isn't making metres. There isn't a stat for quick play the balls however. With Clark, Ratchford and Sandow off the back of him, I wouldn't be at all surprised if his weak carries are entirely deliberate. If he makes 5m and gets a quick play the ball and Clark makes 20 it's a win.

| All about elbows and knees, finding the grass and securing a quick five second PTB. These stats are collected internally and the players are scored on them.

Is this really how the game is now? No wonder I'm losing interest. Imagine Boyd being statistically analysed on his ability to land on knees and elbows quickly rather than his barnstorming drives and intimidation.
We should have kept Warren Stevens - he was good at finding the grass.

| I'm undecided on him.
A good club-man. Excellent ambassador for the club and sport - media savvy, social. A good person to have at the club generally I think. Someone you can imagine teammates look up to.
BUT, Top 4 prop forward? Not sure. Doesn't run his size for me and penalty count is high.
Maybe if Dodds and Hill are starting props in 2016, we'll see a different Sims from the bench.

| I never expected all that much from him really. Watched him for a few years in the NRL and he only really had a good last season and wasn't much cop before that. and he's done about as much as i would have thought been a decent enough signing.

| i'd have had him in our team in 2011, i've said before, i'd have like to have seen him in the squad complementing morley and carvell.
Overall, he's probably not as good as what we've been sold by the club, maybe he's a bit overpaid, but i'm happy with his performance this year(cept maybe them forward passes to ratch as second receiver at the line, but we'll work on that) and i think he does bring some intangibles into the squad. these may be used better next year when gidley comes and he brings some needed leadership.

Yes a decent signing. Not great. I reserve great for signings such as Hill, that was a great signing.

There is a whole sheet of stats including an interestingly titled one called 'Dead Marine'.
It is just the way the game is now, everything is monitored and reviewed.

LOL. I wonder what that is. Maybe Asotasi scored high on that hence his inclusion.
2 stats I am most interested in. Result and league position.

| He's no different here then he was in the Nrl. He's never been a wrecking machine busting tackles and smashing players left right and centre, he's always been a hard hitting solid dependable forward. So I don't get what people were expecting from him? He's done a good job for us and I'm happy with him.
