Clare's a lovely lady, a great enthusiast of, and ambassador for Rugby League. Clare has in theory completely the wrong background to be a RL supporter but she appears to have viewed the game without any pre-conceived ideas - and been completely taken by the skill, commitment and spectacle of the game.

I've seen some lovely young ladies that "drink from the furry cup", in certain films. Much better than any of the above.. Ahhhhhh

Clare Balding loves RL, she makes no secret of it - I hope she continues to front the Beeb's CC coverage next year. Imagine the alternative - they could ask Inverdale to do it...

Inverdale is your typical anti RL, 3 point obsessed, numpty, that the Beeb seem to employ.
Remember those days of Sunday Grandstand, when they used to show the highlights of the previous night's Test match. Cringeworthy. He hates our game with a passion. He'd interview Davies after the highlights, and try and get the conversation on to Union. Ghastly man (but a bloody good broadcaster).

CB has now signed a contract with Channel 4 (the Beeb loses ALL horse racing on Jan 01 2013) so she'll be fronting C4's gee-gee coverage on a Saturday afternoon, which rules out RL. It looks like we've (RL) seen the last of her . Sad day. Nice to have some enthusiasm for our game, on national media.

During the Challenge Cup Final she seemed to be quite enamoured by Leeds, had a slight crush on Sinfield and was presented with a Leeds shirt with her twitter name on. Barely a mention of Wire then.

She's on Jonathan Ross show at the moment. No wires shirt unfortunately.

As for ladies in comfortable shoes the only decent looking ones are in Hammer Horror films - Ingrid Pitt springs to mind. Most real ones loom like Gareth Hock in leggings.

IMO the Beeb should go all out to try and poach Phil Clarke from Sky, he has got the passion and enthusiasm for RL that all our supporters crave. He would be able to showcase to a national audience our game's great young talent like Tomkins, Charnley etc.

Since when the Beeb ever use more than half their when it comes to the effort they put into RL coverage? We'll get whichever roving reporter happens to be free that day, and if Inverdale gets the gig, I'll boo and hiss until my throat is ho and bloodied.

John Inverdale is about a good a broadcaster as Alan Partridge.
