New big screen, permanent stage, continued work on the external steelwork and some repainting, some rejigging of the corporate areas, electronic ticket scanners, and some reworking of the food and drink offering to come.
It has been a common refrain over the last couple of years that the ground has been looking a bit weathered, so it is good to see that being acknowledged. £400k is a pretty chunky outlay.

Was queuing for around 30 minutes to buy a North stand ticket for the friendly vs Widnes. Thought at the time, how - when we have Simon Moran as owner - can’t I buy a ticket on the way to the game from my phone, get a digital ticket and scan it in the way through the turnstiles. Hopefully these upgrades allow that. Good to see the club investing in the stadium.

Couldn't read the whole article but I assume the stage is in the SE corner. I hope the it doesn't compromise much of the standing area.

The whole experience has to be top notch & queuing for half an hour is plain daft. Paintwork, food & drink, toilets, clocks, announcements etc. etc. have got to be the best. Go for it Wire. |

Been a while since the last sell out, think any improvement in match day is to be welcomed.
Was covered in another post recently, but I was surprised we saw such a decline in attendances in 2024, given the team performances - around 800 per game less than 2023 |

It has replaced the "Best seat in the house" gimmick by the screen. |

‘The best seat in the house’ gimmick, wasn’t well thought through.
I can see it being nothing short of intimidating, sat amongst the vocal budget area of the ground.

All they need to do now is to start enforcing the stadium vaping rules and reduce the brightness of the touchline advertising screens which plays havoc for us old codgers with eyeballs full of floaters.

We had a sell out v Wigan in powells second season. Then again, we had won our opening 7 fixtures. The game was a top of the table clash(which Wigan won obviously!)and had a lot of hype around it. Games need to be billed as big events to get punters in, not what they're going to see during the half time break. |
