Do people think mathers will be no1 all season?

If not... Do we see Riley as his main challenger?

Both seem to have similar attributes for the position in my opinion.

if mathers can play consistently especially like in the two friendlies i would be happy for him to stay there i prefer riles on the wing he has good explosive pace

Unless he gets injured, Mathers will play there every week.

It would be good for someone to challenge Mathers,for the FB shirt.Just to keep him on toes.I dont see Chris as natural FB.

I suppose that was the point of the thread. Do we have another natural fullback? If mathers got injured who would be the replacement? Riley? Hicks?

Might be wrong but hasnt Bridge played FB. Out of the two Hicks Riley,i would rather have Hicks standing in as FB

bridge was ment to be our full back two season ago year of briers's testomonial then got injured 1st game i think...

Mathers is our best option at fullback but if he got injured/banned i would have riley and keep hicks on the wing but im just a supporter not the coach

It's Mathers position to lose imo. Riley can challenge him as I think he will do with the wingers as I don't think he'll be first choice for either.

I think Mathers is prone to a few brain farts, Wigan semi and Leeds away spring to mind so if Riley or another are performing in training Smith may want to try someone different.

I think Mathers will be given the season at Full-back baring injuries, I'm not entirely sure if he's good enough though especially compared to the other Full-Backs in the league... I'd like to see he succeed but only time will tell.

Its the one area of the team i would say we are weak,then again i would also say we lack a decent LF

As a long term solution that's a plausible shout... I guess I was angling at this season.

Probably not... If you think he will be in the first team by the start of next season... Be great if smith thinks he is good enough to step up to the first team by then.... I hope that's the case... He shows great promise.

Ben Harrison is a Second Row/Prop.... he played LF last year as Vinnie Anderson picked up an injury and unfortunately for him couldn't regain his place when he was fully fit.

I agree with this. As second choice though I would definitely put Hicks there and Riley on the wing.
