| I don't normally criticise our players, but I do have to raise the problem of Chris Hill. Time and time again he carries the ball much too quickly into the opposition line, twists, to free the ball, and finds no supporting runner. Hardly surprising though is it ? He needs to be far more composed and slow his runs down, it's no use outrunning his team mates like that. I did have great hopes for the lad when he first joined us but now I am starting to have second thoughts.

| I know you are laughing at me Morley, but go to SL Stats and have a look at the top metre makers. Chris Hill is number 8 ! !
Now if he had passed the ball beforehand, he wouldn't have been so high up would he ?.
Point proved I think.

| I hate the fact he isn't over 30, don't Wire realise we are the mighty dads army, how the hell do we keep up reputations when we play youngsters, not only that but youngsters who are showing up the older players, they have no respect for their elders and frankly it's a disgrace, ship him off back to Leigh then resign him in 8 years.
Cocky little b'stards, i blame the parents.

| He could end up like Rowland Phillips. He must learn not to pass the ball in his own half.

| All props are not the same they have different qualities. He makes yards after the impact which for me is a massive plus as this is when the off load is most danerous and create try's. How can he be blamed for going to fast, slow down and let the opposition tackle you before the gain line and then if you off load and no one is there at least the opposition are closer to the try line ??????

| Of course he needs to slow down, who does he think he is, Richie Myler ?
It's the same every time, a quick shuffle of his feet or change in direction, and off he goes at a hundred miles an hour breaking tackles and running a good 10-20 metres. How are our slower forwards supposed to keep up or get in a position for an offload ?
You see the problem with these young lads is that they all wan't to be a half back. It wasn't like this when I started watching back in 1947. Props were slow, ponderous, 20 stone trolls who enjoyed thumping the opposition as much as playing rugby.
We just seem to have lost the magic from the game nowadays. All these props have been watching too much 'Billy Elliot'.

Very good 9/10. They were probably the best two welshmen that we have had on the books. However, my favourite is still number 626. He wasn't with us long, but I have fond memories.

| Dave King was actually quite highly rated when he signed for us (from Huddersfield I think), he had something of a reputation for finding his way to the try line.
Turned out the only thing he knew his way to was the front of the queue at Greggs.

Think it was 93-94. Probably Brian Johnson's poorest signing (along with Mateaki Mafi).

| If memory serves Craig Teitzel had just had a bad injury before we signed him, neck injury I think, and we pretty much coaxed him out of retirement. The state the club was in at the time, if you were upright you were in.
As we are some way of piste here, I think Chis Hill is showing signs of coming good again if his Hull performance was anything to go by. Difficult as it must be to match last years impact, I am sure he will be fine and his form will return as we reach the business end of the season

| Veering back off topic again (since I have nothing to contribute other to the Chris Hill debate, other than if Cooper is NRL material then Hill is Kangaroo material) I still have horrible flashbacks to the Finau/Mafi/George Mann period.
Mafi was a classic example of how being fast in itself doesn't make you a winger. When we signed him apparently he was an Olympic Standard Sprinter. All I can say is we put him in rugby boots and he instantly turned into a Olympic Standard Donkey. With one leg. And a limp.
Finau bore an uncanny resemblance to Mr Potato Head, and that was about it really.
George Mann had amazing eyeballs. Anyone ever seen that bit in Total Recall when Arnies on Mars and his helmet crash and his eyeballs bulge in their sockets? That was George that was.

And yet we were still able to finish level on points with Wigan and Bradford at the top.
Teitzel went on to play another season in Australia after he left us, at N Queensland Cowboys.

It Was Les Boyd who recommended him to the club...its probably why Teitzel gets so much stick, because people were expecting a les boyd and that type of player doesnt come around very often do they....
