Not sure what went on in the first half but it looked like a right abortion, fans bein sent from pillar to post at the start of the game then I even saw Bernie the stadium manager turn up.

Some South stand ticket holders arriving close to kick off were told there was no space and had to stand in the west today.

some of the stewards get abit power mad if u like seeming to speak to people lie there on the doors in town, but i also think people turn up 5 mins before kick off and expect a place to be there for them, if you want a place get there earlier!!

Disagree with you there, if you buy a season ticket it should guarantee you a place in the south stand every match no matter what time you turn up, bad business by Wire there.

Good on ya though for filling a stand against Crusaders if your capacity was bigger you could be up there with us and Leeds on attendances. Speaking of which the other week at the Wire v Wigan game i heard some of your fans talking about the corners being filled next year, is this actually happening or just a rumour?

No space in the south? There was loads of space where we were in the SE corner.

The south was quite packed in the middle today. I usually stand where the Screen goes, and was almost not allowed back up there at Half time! ... I went to the bar, got myself a pint and my sister a coffee, carried it back to her spot with her only for a Steward to tell me I wasn't allowed in that part as it was "Full" and after about 30 seconds of arguing he let me give my sister her coffee (Who was literally 7 feet away) before taking my drink to my 'normal' spot.

I almost wasn't allowed in there, too... But the steward was a little more cival and after I told him i'd been to the bar and my mate was right at the back with my "spot", he let me up.

I paid to get in the South a couple of minutes after kick off (was still outside when Crusaders scored anyway) and there were no problems.

I've just said the very same thing to a friend.

His reply was something along the lines of the club assuming that 10% of season ticket holders don't turn up for a game, obviously this is on average, taking into consideration of low attended games, rather than sell outs and they admit paying fans up to this point.

Basically, if there is 3,000 season ticket holders and 800 spaces left, they will allow 800 in who pay on the gate, plus up to 300 of spaces reserved for ticket holders. I guess, from the clubs perspective, it means the South stand is always as full as possible.

99.9% of the time it doesn't raise an issue, and the times it does, it's only those who arrive 5 minutes before kick off who are affected. I believe this was the case yesterday.

One thing I did notice was that fans were admitted into the stand, then moved into the West. Surely if 3,800 have gone through the turnstiles, they should be closed immediately and anyone else will have to actually enter the West through the turnstiles in that stand.

I am sure there is no way the club would sell 10% of the season ticket sales in case people dont turn up as they would be crucified if all st holders turned up and 300 people couldnt get in.

To pre-purchase a season ticket in advance of the season should guarantee you a space in that stand even if you turn up at half time.

Well this was my reply to him, but I'm not one to argue too much. I would however kick off if I was refused entry because the stand was full. This is the first time I've heard of this problem though, my immediate assumption was that the club only implement this for games where they know there will be plenty of room, it may not be the case at all though.

It was pretty full yesterday as could be seen by the North and East stands which aren't normally that full for teams at the lower end of the division.

We are going to have to accept that we are becoming a team that people want to watch and so most games will be pretty busy

Indeed, I've been mightily impressed by the crowds in the 3 games so far. An average of nearly 12,000 apparently, with 2 of the 3 games against supposedly "light" travelling support

Have to agree with some of the stewards thinking they are working the doors, Girlfriend and I arrived after Kick off which was our own fault but the steward in the far SE corner just repeated the line "go to the west stand", we ended up walking one steward up who allowed us up and had to limbo the barriers to our usual spot (not expecting it to be for us however as season ticket holders expect to be fairly treated) where there was more than ample space.

Understand its safety first at all games however the attitude of some stewards is so defensive it beggars belief.

This get there earlier argument always cracks me up. If everyone turned up 3 hours early, the same would happen but 3 hours earlier. I've turned up a few minutes before kick off several times, the stewards have blocked the stairs when there is clearly plenty of space in the centres between the steps. The real issue is people turn up early and stand next to the steps blocking the exit from the steps to the centres.

Even Mr. Moran was having trouble getting in the South Stand yesterday. Some steward wasn't letting him cross from the East to the South Stand. Eventually he allowed him past...P45 in the post Mr. Steward

Was stood in the s/w corner there was loads of room, the stewards got a bit bored didn't ave much to do so started telling lies. Thats my theory
