The former Parramatta and South Sydney half-back, who in November walked out of Warrington halfway through a two-year contract, avoided a conviction after he agreed to magistrate Andrew Hackett's unorthodox request that he become a community spokesman for conflict resolution in Cherbourg.
Interesting piece where the magistrate tells him to be like Thurston (!), then he behaves like some sort of big kid and sneaks out of the back door of the courtroom.

I guess the whole Sandow story is just a reminder that when you sign a player who has shown repeated patterns of problem behaviour in the past, you have to go in to it with a realistic expectation that you know what is coming and are prepared to manage it.
Sometimes risks pay off but you can't be surprised if you end up seeing the same problems.
