| Heart Felt Condolences to Roger`s wife & family.
To those of you who are too young to have seen him play, Roger was one of the all time greats........Brilliant player, who played in the last era when we could actually beat Australia in a Test series, & NOT just the odd match.
One of many memories of Roger was one incident, when he became the only player I have ever seen, to score a try off HIS OWN penalty kick.
His team were awarded a penalty, quite close to the goal posts, which was an easy goal for him. All the opposition team lined up in front of & behind the posts as was the norm. then, as it is now.
As he kicked the ball, he deliberately kicked it the requisite 10 yards, but to the touchline, he quickly accelerated after the ball, picked it up & scored a try, before the opposing team could react.
The referee awarded the try. Fantastic skill, & quick thinking.

| Millward was an excellent half-back in the days when GB always seemed to be producing outstanding half-backs. What a difference to today. In Millward's day it was great players like him, Keith Hepworth, Alan Hardisty and the like that kept Parry Gordon from international caps, to be followed by John Wood, Tony Myler and Andy Gregory. Why can't we produce such half-backs today?

| I remember seeing Roger play a few days after signing for Cas at the ripe old age of 16. You could see he had potential in that first game at WIlderspool. As you say.Millward along with Hepworth & Hardisty were the bane of Parry Gordon's career. RIP

| And so soon after Mick Sullivan. Two RL heroes lost in such a short pace of time. Terrible shame. RIP Roger.
