Scuse my ignorance, ErasknowallaboutWireimus.....but can you tell me
just why your lot are known as "Wire" ????
Goes way back when the team nickname was The Wire Pullers, wire drawing was
one of the main industries in Warrington, ie Rylands Wire, Peter Stubs, The
Firth, Lockers, sadly the industry is all but dead , but Peter Stubs is
still going, I worked there for a while as a Furnaceman, my dad worked there
at the same time and my Grandad worked there for 60 years man and boy.The
official title is The Wolves but to the fans they are still The Wire.

Both my grandad and great grandad worked in the Wire industry, will always be the Wire to me.
