I used to think he was a clown too but I've been taking note of his actions and statements and I've come to the conclusion that this is not an idiot who keeps shouting his mouth off, this is a clever man marketing the game to a wider audience than the RFL itself has been able to do in recent years.
He knows exactly what he's doing and saying. He is great for this sport.
The whole Gareth Hock Challenge Cup saga was totally made up in my opinion. There were no clauses in any contact that said he couldn't play against Salford, Koukash just wanted to soup up a bit of media attention for the game and the sport.
It wouldn't surprise me if this was the same. Imagine if Salford do actually win this game...more people will have had their attention drawn to the game through Salford's known knocked-back request in the media and the attention from the media with a win will be fairly big (as far as SL goes) and 25 more people are interested in this sport than would have been if none of this was ever in the media. Or is this just me being cynical?
