Quote ="Wire-in-the-blood"Not for the first time I'm pretty sure I watched a different game to some of you lads. Mick Monas and Myler had a poor game, panicky and no game plan on display from the halves but as for some of the other players being vilified, I just don't see it.
Waterhouse put in a shift, defensively he looked strong and was turning in the tackle for an offload that wasn't being supported - which I can forgive in the first game of the season, but we've got to be getting runners off him. Benny was his usual self, but too keen to do everything himself rather than bossing our players. I like the look of Asotasi; he's not settled into the side but he made yards, looked for the offload and but the effort in.
Our lack of a game plan was what did us last night and that's from the halves. No one was calling the plays and without a kicking game it was 5 runs and hope. So yes it was a let down, but let's not have hysterical over reactions about players being crap/past it/drop TS just yet. If we're still playing like this after 10 rounds, then panic.'"
Agree with all of this post, good summary of the game i watched
What we are missing is IMO Myler playing of the shoulder of the lads making the hard yards who are trying to offload. Gaz O'Brien is well overdue a run in this team to see what he can do as the playmaker/general.
Myler needs to continue to play on the shoulder, looking for offloads and allow Gaz to take on in-play kicking duties and organising the attacking plays
On a positive note we appear to have options in nearly every position, which I think will all be given a chance early on this season. Looking forward to seing Kev Penny back and given a run
Roll on Leeds Friday night.
