Koukash may be new to RL but seems absolutely convinced he is going to make Salfod a big, Manchester-wide, family-based club. Maybe he can be critisised for some things, but ambition is definitely not one of them !

I think RL needs new blood with new ideas like this, no organisation wouldn't benefit from a shake-up every once in a while.

Some interesting snippets on finances too. I think it was saints McManus that said the total debts of RL are no where nearly as bad as portrayed, less than one RU club for instance, saracens.

Brian Smith would be a very big deal too, as well as being a proven quality coach, will have big pulling power, i would imagine the chance to work under the Smith 'dynasty' is a big draw for a lot of players.

I would imagine the very slim chance of Tony going back to Oz would be even smaller when his brother is back over here.

Strange that you seemed so determined to make an absolute bellend of yourself on these forums, with your continual downer on Koukash, despite having little evidence in your constant harping that he is some sort of fraud??...



As others have mentioned, he has already made some significant appointments among the higher hierarchy at Salford, and as for player signings, well, to be fair, his hands are pretty tied with regards to bringing in any big names between now and the end of the season.

As for your rather simplistic Brian Noble scenario??....Well, it might just be possible that they have their eyes on, or even lined up, somebody else?

The one thing I've always maintained throughout this whole episode is that Koukash should not rush into any rash appointments, either coaching or player wise.....After a worrying opening few weeks, where he wanted to be linked with any Tom, Dick or Harry, it finally seems to have clicked with him that he might just have to be a bit more patient than he might have liked.

Why do so many people on RLFans have muppets as avatars? Whatever the reason, it's pretty handy for signposting the fact that the viewpoints expressed are likely to be blinkered, negative and reactionary.

Whatever the merits of Dr Koukash you do get the feeling he didn't quite understand the size of the challenge when he bought the club.

The biggest issue is still engaging the Salford/ Manchester public.
