Yeah think so. Remember it being a low scoring, highly charged affair played on a heavy pitch in awful weather. And feeling fortunate to have won it!

Was the Premiership final of '87.....My memories are as follows...

1. It poured down.

2. Wire had quite a weakened side.

3. For some reason, a majority of the Wire team had skinheads in the week running upto the game.

4. The game was pretty awful - Ended 8 or 9 nil, I think.

5. Biggest highlight for Wire was a legendary Dessie 'head' tackle on Lydon, which ended with the Wigan lothario ending up in the dugout, wondering what the fook had just hit him.

Overall, it was a bit of an anti-climax after the victory over Halifax 12 months earlier.

Perfectly good Gary Sanderson (iirc) try for offside being disallowed for offside (as proved by TV replay)
