Quote ="mark_m"Nightmare! One place I could train with my eldest two lads either on the machines or in the bodyweight fitness classes.
No idea what to do now.
Just found this though, doesn't seem likely it will re-open:
Emeka Limited a ‘wholly owned company’ of the Guernsey based Pervaiz Naviede Family Trust has recently acquired the leisure investment known as Total Fitness on Winwick Road, Warrington.
The property is bought freehold and comprises a purpose built standalone leisure unit situated on the edge of Warrington, approximately 1 mile from junction 9 of the M62 motorway. Nearby uses include BMW and Fiat car showrooms, a Tesco supermarket and immediately adjacent is a new business park development.
The property is let to Total Fitness UK Limited for a term of 35 years from 28 November 2003 at an initial rent of £963,716 per annum. The lease is on FRI terms subject to 5 yearly rent reviews. There is a tenant only break at the end of year 25 (28 November 202icon_cool.gif.”'"
Jesus that's some rent. They must surely have been making a loss at that amount. No wonder they never did any improvements in all the years i was a member which was when it 1st opened.Imo no gym was as good as this certainly in space wise + the spa area was what most people liked + for £35 per month was quite reasonable.Quite sad when you get to see the same faces week in week out for years then boom but at the end of the day us members were the last thing the deal breakers were thinking about when they had pound signs in their heads.Just joined DW on a 6mth contract as i work in town + spend my weekends in Newcastle Under Lyme which has a DW so very practical for myself but would defo rejoin TF if they ever set up again which is highly unlikely under the current circumstances.
