I'm not sure where this 'record' of Bevan's comes from. In his first season he scored 48 tries in 36 league matches. Overall he scored 740 tries in 620 matches for Warrington. That is more then 50 tries for EVERY 46 games he ever played and he kept it up for seventeen years.

The record is the quickest to score their first fifty tries for Warrington.

Long term records are difficult to compare though. Yes, they give an indication but back in BBs day:-
1) yes, he was fast
2) he apparently never passed to anybody
3) he was consider Warrington's major scoring outlet (whereas now we get them all over the place).

Personally, I hope Joel breaks the record...............even if its so I can tell my grandkids "I was there"

One thing that strikes me about Bevan ,i never saw him play, is that how good/ poor would Warrington have been without him ?
