Like football its major benefit of Monday night matches is TV Viewing. Saturday's are when alot of people are busy enjoying their weekend or watching/participating in other sports. Aside from soaps there aren't generally many programmes to pull in viewing figures, and sports fans often clamouring for a live piece of Sport. Although attendances of Monday Night Premier League games are generally lower than Saturdays, I'd be interested to see stats of Monday viewing figures. With the PL now in the off-season and the Euro's upcoming, it makes sense to at least try and win some viewers in this slot, even though attendances may take a hit although not by too much i'd expect as it's not exactly a weekly fixture.
Something to look forward to on Monday's aswell.
