Quote ="Raymond Pennington"Well the official capacity of the stadium is 14,206, although this has been reduced to approximately 13,024 after overcrowding trouble plagued the stadium's opening match where Warrington took on Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in Super League IX. The match was a sell out and was not deemed safe.
That night was one of the worst nights in Wire's history, I am still traumatised by that game which I had a ticket yet never got in, because of the bad organisation of the club.
I hope we never have a fiasco like that again, it could well have been RL's Hillsborough if the fans didn't remain as calm as they did unlike Soccer fans.'"
Raymond/Des/Keith the Beef/whoever you are. This post has summed you up for what you are. You simply cannot compare that night with even the potential for what happened at Hillsborough. I got in the ground after the walk from Wilderspool with about 3000 others at about 7.30pm. I had no trouble getting in the ground. The first game at any ground will always cause a problem. You seem to specialise in posts that mean to create a sensation. Did you complain to the club? Did you get your money back?
