Joel Tomkins report is a load of rubbish. He says that "he tried to pull out of the tackle but feels he was already committed". i don't see how this could be true as it happened 2/3 seconds after the grounding. Then when he states "He was attempting to stop his opponent getting the ball down and is seen to accelerate when he realises his opponent doesn't ground the ball immediately" it makes me wonder how he expected to deny Myler from scoring by dropping down with the forearm on his face. Finally the "He doesn't feel contact was made with the head/neck of his opponent and attempted to bring his forearm down away to avoid this" makes me wonder if he has seen it again when he clearly makes contact with the head on Myler.
Terrible decision from the RFL IMO, but there isn't much we can do to change it...
