I've got a lot of time for Cooper.

He hasn't kicked on this year, this contract shows Smith still has the belief, so I'm happy with that. Happy that for whatever reason he hasn't kicked on, Smith must be happy with, ie, the attitude must be right, the work ethic etc, or he'd be out.

He seemed to lose too much weight in the off season for me.

Cooper is a nice lad who has done well to get back from his horrific injury and also to keep the positive attitude being behind seasoned professionals.

Mike Cooper is maturing into a tough and physical prop and keeping him and other young lads coming through will add depth to the squad hopefully for years to come.
