I think this year, He is going to be a contender for Man of steel. Now he is settled in and playing at his best position at hooker as we seen back end of last year especially with briers and myler behind him. At 40/1 as well i will be putting a bet on him.

Not many players can remain brilliant over the full course of the season, Hodgson certainly didn't in 2009. Its about the player who makes the most impact through the course of a season. I believe that Monaghan, in his rightful position of hooker, will be a very good candidate for MoS in 2010. His attacking play from hooker can be devastating and his defence is awesome. When Manly made it to the GF in 2007, it was largely due to Monaghans outstanding performances at hooker. He now looks more settled and happy at warrington which is sure to give his form and confidence a boost.

I don't remember Hodgson putting a foot wrong last year.

he had a stormer in the cc final didn't he? ie, a game that REALLY mattered. He had a very good 1st season, however he wasn't brilliant in every game and that was my original point.
