Harlequins RL actually remind me of us a few years back, a team studded with a few quality players surrounded by 'team players'. Managed to get a few playoff appearances in the past much like ourselves. Thankfully we have an amazing support home and away generally and crave success and will be expected to push on from last years challenge cup win whereas Harlequins RL need to get some good support drummed up from down south before they can progress to the same level. Some major signings for them should put them on the map, maybe a lockyer type signing, such as Johns did for us.

Where did you get that squad list from?

I totally disagree , I have recently moved down here and am now involved in the Quins Scholarship and the work going on down here is first class. It is easy to use attendances as a measure to if a club is successful or not but the clubs presence is key to all the development that is happening. The South has huge potential for supplying the home nations with playing talent and the youth playing down here has impressesd me no end and is equal and in some cases better than their Northern counterparts. The Quins are the top of a strong Southern pyramid and admittedly attendances are not great but I have every faith that they will grow with the club establishing itself at the Stoop. The recent record sponsorship to me highlights the clubs growing presence in the capital. I think we all need to stop knocking the hard work that goes on at the smaller clubs and remember that our Garden was not that green not so long ago!!!

Financially the club appears to be steadying the ship-Players such as Hill, Maclinden, Paul(high earners) have left and not been replaced. We brought in 2 Aussie second rowers last year who underperformed massively, hopefully they will offer something this year- The pack will go OK. Clubb at centre is a little worrying. With a smallish squad(talent wise) a few injuries knocks your chances. Last year we were sat 4th with what looked like an easyish run in and lost 11 from 12.(after injuries to Howell, Purdham, Orr, Tamata)

Plenty of London born players in the squad which is an aspiration of both Mcdermott and Hughes(chairman)

On the plus we've just signed what has been described as an unprecedented shirt sponsorship in RL with WIN(value wise) and as BB has mentioned youth RL is growing year on year-LMS, Clubb being the first to come through the programme.
