I like the play off model. I think it encourages consistency throughout the regular season, as the top two, even the top four, have an increased chance of getting to the final, whilst also allowing for the sides 6-8 to get there, providing they put in a monumental effort over four weeks of intense footy. Essentially, you have to be really, really good (at least somewhat) consistantly to win the thing, which is only fair and just IMO.
Moreover, we keep saying how the NRL is more intense than our game and our lads aren't up to the standard when it comes to pressure cooker international matches against the Ockers, well here's our chance to see how Shenton, Westerman, Tomkins, et al fare on the big stage.
