Now don't think that I am counting my chickens but if anyone is interested, Virgin Trains are doing a very good deal on advanced bookings for Challenge cup final day 29/08/09. The only drawback being that you would have to travel from Runcorn railway station at 06.03am but the return is to Bank Quay, basically you need to buy two singles. The details are:

The 06.03am Runcorn to London Euston train a single will cost £8.00.

Returning on the 7.00pm London Euston to Warrington Bank Quay train a single is £11.00.

I know the times make this a long day but it gives plenty of time in London for beer and for £19.00 its worth taking the risk!
