Pretty even game in which Warrington had plenty of field position and opportunities to put the game to bed in the second half but failed to put points on the board.

Not sure of the age of the Widnes team but physically they seemed to dominate Warrington. They certainly hit in the tackles like you would expect in a local derby.

From the way they went I was suprised it was Widnes' first win whilst for Warrington not too much to be down-hearted about. Crowley picked-up an injury and physical presence was missed. Jack Ried seemed to have a good game but I felt that the direction and kicking of O'Brien was missed (is he injured?). Evans scored his usual try.

All in all not too bad with the number of 16 year olds playing including a debut for Bobby Goulding jnr. in his home town.

Quite a few young'uns. The evans brothers for example were playing, this time last year they were playing Service Area Rugby.


Speaking of which...

Service area starts this weekend, Saturday at 10:30 am is the first time of 'season' at Great Sankey High. Hope to see you there.

I watched the game against widnes. Agree with the above comments, too many mistakes made, should have scored more in second half. They missed o'brians kicking, saw him on the touch line he must be injured. Widnes put in some big hits, thought that whenever crowley subbed, wire lacked go forward. Shame to see him carried of the pitch, think they will miss him if hes out for a while.....
Stupid penalty given in last 10 mins, widnes took the two points to win the match.

O'Brien was injured apparantly but heard he shouldn't be out too long though...
