Good business I think. Clearly from day one he didn't have the passion and desire to play for us and that often showed and has done over the last year. He is apparently one of the more 'social' members of our squad and maybe this is Smith setting a marker down - 'buck up or go'. If he was to leave next year for nothing why not cash in on him now. I cannot see us getting rid without having a replacement lined up, maybe this is why the deal has dragged?? Smith might have been playing him at 6 so he could see what other options we have already in the team to play centre if he were to let Martin go.
