Be quite fitting if it was Briers having only recently became our highest ever points scorer.

I thought Briers drop goal, but Tony Smith will kill him if he deliberately boots over a one pointer early in the game rather than looking for a six point opening so I don't think that's on the cards.

Aye, "Cull" and "the lads" would have no doubt egged him on in training during the build up and probably told their mates to stick a few quid on it. The Tony Smith regime appears to be slightly more professional thankfully!
