Having been reading the various forums for the last few months with increasing excitement after the upturn in Salfords fortunes i have now reached the point where i am totally disgusted with some of the comments and postings both in the forums,newspapers and the TV media with regards to Dr Koukash.What has the guy done to deserve some of the crap and snide comments that have been thrown his way other than rescue one of the games historic clubs.
From the day he came onboard he has certainly ruffled a few feathers,especially at the RFL but lets be honest,they fully deserve having their feathers well and truly ruffled.Their total failings in securing much needed sponsorship and much needed revenue streams would not be tolerated in many other sports.Their vindictive treatment towards Salford and Dr Koukash after the whole 14 man affair was akin to playground bullying.The fact that the DR highlighted the shortcomings at the RFL with regards to their lack of leadership and buisness dealings did not go down well at the RFL but no fan,from any Rugby club can disagree with what he said.His calls for changes to the salary cap system to allow clubs to compete with the NRL and RU were ridiculed as the rantings of a man just wanting to make changes to benefit his own club.This could not be further from the truth.As the season has rolled on and more and more SL talent is heading to the Southern Hemisphere his comments are now being taken more seriously.Now we have everyone talking about how we can stave of the NRL and RU to protect the quality of SL.

Some of the more personal attacks towards the Dr have been both ridiculous and downright libelous at times.If i have to hear Stevvo refer to him as "That CoooCash Fella" once more i will puke.

Hopefully soon there will be a lot of people out there with a big fat dollop of egg on their faces with enough Humble pie to go around for all of them

Excellent post.I won't attempt to understand the critics but applaud how quickly a businessman has sussed the sport and the governing body.

there can not be any one better placed to assist the world wide coverage of the sport and with his main business based in Dubai,get the sponsorship.
I hope he concentrates solely on Salford and all sponsorship is centred here.
I also hope the soon to be appointed head of business is also like-minded.

The bloke from the RFL that came on Boots n'All this week may be the brightest star in our sport and is probably a very pleasant man.
BUT, compare him with the COOs that pop up on TV from other sports and he simply doesn't look or sound the part.

I know he was CEO but Richard Lewis was a class act and losing him was a serious blow.

I'm also hacked off with Eddie Hemmings,who's done well for Superleague.
Like us,they want new money in our sport and a higher profile for it ,but then make their dislike of what he's doing fairly plain.

I think Eddie has started to wear his Widnes heart on his sleeve.

Carney,Wells,Cullen and possibly Phil Clarke are far more balanced and articulate.

Carney is the future of RL commentary. But I would say that.

I really wouldn't worry too much about the Doc and the "disrespect" - given his life-story I rather think he's overcome more difficulties in getting to his current position than could ever be posed by the jealous numpties that have been posting and commenting against him.
For me, as a long time Salford fan used to disappointment, mediocrity and failure it's time to sit back and enjoy the ride because I think this time round the roller-coaster is going to have more ups than downs and let's fact it, we're just not used to that!

What do you expect , we are all jealous pmsl , that and the fact that he came in all guns blazing threatening to cheat the cap etc, and started by cheating with 14 on the field

What you do see is that the people who seem to be the most disrespectful tend to be geographically grouped which though sad seems to be a true.

What I would hope is that there is no thinly veiled racism in all this based on the Doctors faith which again I can actually see as being an underlying factor for some of the more moronic people who seem to spend their time on our forum recently.

If there were more people involved in RL in this country like the Doc I think the sport would be in a much healthier position and God can you imagine what the sport could achieve if someone like the Doc was in charge.

As in most facets of life the Doc is finding that the truth hurts and some I see are bleating as they have been found to be sadly wanting.

And here we go.Exactly the type of comment that i meant.
If you cant see that what he was commenting on was the state of RL and the failings of the rulers of the sport,and how their failings have done and will continue to do so, mean less money in the bank for every SL club at a time when it is needed more than ever then you are a deluded individual.
As for his cheating.Do you honestly think he ran down to pitch side and sent on the extra man himself in order to cheat.Yes a mistake was made for which Salford have paid a totally over the top penalty but lets not start throwing accusations of a totally ridiculous nature at the guy.You should be more concerned over what happened to the 2 points Salford lost and why were they not awarded To Cas.If they had of been then Cas would be sitting in a good situation now for reaching the top 8.Yet again the RFL screwed things up and all you can do is throw stupid comments at a guy who is actually trying to improve Rugby League in this country.

How is he trying to improve rugby league ? By removing the cap so that only clubs with wealthy benefactors can win ? It would look great if Salford won the SL and paraded the trophy at your new stadium in front of your massive 3000 ( and that's generous) supporters.
Just remember where you have come from before wanting to force other clubs down the same route with your daft ideas.

The fourteen players bit was thrown in because half of your posters on here think everyone is attacking your club , so I thought I would oblige. As I have said before I hope you do well as a club but not at the detriment of other , not so lucky clubs , lets leave that to the likes of Wigan and leeds .

I'm not one, i'm actually really warming to the Doc, but that statement is daft considering quite a few clubs have wealthy owners/directors/chairmen.

If it wasnt for all these sugar daddys RL would be on its backside, Dr Koukash is right in what he is getting at but how many clubs would be able to afford alot more than the salary cap? The RFL need to seek investment of a good calibre, the product that the players provide is quality. Shame the RFL cant provide the monies to back it up and promote it to wider audiences.

My estimations of Neil Hudgell have gone up massively, one of the chairmen who know how bad the current situation of the game is and knows what needs to be done.

If you compare what he's done with his life to your 'achievements', my guess would be that most of what you posted would be better attributed to you.

Depends on the quality he wants to bite. To get a quality bite requires subtlety and thought. Anyone can balm-off. That doesn't take skill.
