Our defence has never been that great so I expect you you to score a decent amount of points. The only question is will be able to score more than we concede.

Obviously would like us to win but just glad to have a decent team to watch this season and looking forward to my first trip to your new stadium and a good game.

Is it easier to park at Eccles rugby club and walk to the ground?

Possibly, though very much depends on the new traffic lights and good/bad effect they are going to have on things.

First time they've been in use for a Salford game so no real way of knowing, guess a good indicator will be coming off the motorway and the queue to get off, big queue go to Eccles RLFC, no queue head for the stadium itself.

There was no queue to get off the motorway to go to Eccles RL, when we were ther around 2pm. Have used it twice before and can't beat it for £3. Friends used club car park for £5 and were still trying to get off it when we were ten mins from Wakey on the way home.
Eccles RL every time, easy get away and supporting the amateur game.

We parked at Eccles the walk was ok not keen on the facilities tbh the compare kept referring to the First DIRECT SL this was poor. Your pre match entertainment wasn't much better in my opinion I won't be rushing back that's for sure

Listen Salford are only going to get better, two half hit outs for us and today 13 super league debutants started the game, probably our best player goes off and tommy Lee had to take his place, Noble probably didn't select the best 17 to deal with that. But hey we won and with two first teamers back next week we will be better for the tough game.

As a Wakey fan I think you'll find that tommy lee is an underrated player if played in his proper position,

Totally rattled us when Chase went off our kicking game was nonexistent and we had forwards doing the set plays. A lot to work on but in happy with 2 points.

You won't be returning to a ground to watch your club play because the announcer at the ground got the name of the Super League sponsor wrong and you weren't keen on the facilities? Just to confirm I'll be attending Belle Vue for the return match later this year, not sure what the facilities are like.

BV facilities are poor as you probably know but the access is much better than Barton I am sorry but the event today was cheesed to say the least. I think the only thing Salford really have to worry about is the half backs getting injured.
Clearly there is more in the team and I reckon they'll be entertaining to watch this season.

Wakefield played well and are on the up recently. Disappointed we didn't win, and I think will give us a good start to our season just by proving we can compete.
For Salford a lot of it was about getting over the line for the first win.

It's a long way to go from bottom to top but I reckon you'll enjoy giving it to the big guns.

Got to be honest, left the ground feeling a little underwhelmed, but on reflection I believe there are some major plus points:

1) For roughly the first twenty minutes, I saw Salford team absolutely dominate their opponents.

2) Even though we were poor in the second half, and didn't have much in the way of possession, we scrambled really well in defence and didn't give away our lead. Also, let's not forget we conceded one try to an interception.

3) There were some really strong punishing runs from forwards and backs, all through the game. In the second half, strong carriers from players like Hock and Pulletua, in particular, relieved a great deal of pressure.
