| No chance of signing Benji. You’d be disappointed if the Doc hadn’t asked the question, or pursued it but his wife is homesick as it is in New Zealand so why would they uproot to the other side of the world? The chance we had was for the remainder of the 2014 if NRL clubs had spent up to the cap, but as you can imagine when a player like Benji becomes available you make room.
I will be surprised if he ends up somewhere other than Cronulla.

Shows exactly how out of touch I have been this month
There is a valid and true reason but I choose to blame the former player and now Real Estate fella Mark Bryant - and to a lesser extent former player and male model Nick Youngquest - for their pro-Noble and obviously anti - Iestyn Harris tweet of 4th-6th April (?)
I don't think we can take either seriously as Bryant and his agent signed for Crusaders in the first place and despite the warnings about the club the CEO Paul Retout was sentenced to a term of imprisonment, they went into administration and the next CEO,Rod Findlay, the former RFL in-house solicitor who had previously been at a club which was liquidated, was at Crusaders when they also went into liquidation.
Bryant then signed for Harlequins, and surprisingly, during his time there the head coach Rob Powell was sacked and like Retout,Findlay, and himself is no longer involved in the sport.
The club Youngquest signed for,on arrival from France, was Gateshead Thunder. The coach he signed for is no longer in the sport and his replacement was Steve McCormack. His tactical genius included making the [url=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyleague/article-1189815/Gateshead-6-St-Helens-66-Saints-march-fourth-Wembley.htmlPitch Skinny (?) Against St Helens !?[/url
I don't appreciate their (Bryant and Youngquest) conduct but it was Widnes where other Crusader players went when they were liquidated.
Rhys Hanbury,Hep Cahill,Lloyd White amongst others.
I am not aware of any mischief making by Bryant or Youngquest in relation to any other of their previous coaches.
We need to get behind the players and try and ensure they get the right result on Sunday.

No there is more chance of our new Head Coach, CEO or our next Football Director still being here this time next year than there ever was of signing Benji Marshall.

Yes the Doc's heading over to buy the New Zealand Warriors and oversee the logistics of their transportation to the UK.

Salford lose twice over Easter: We are signing Locke.
Negative headlines over Noble sacking: We are signing Marshall.
I just hope we beat Widnes, as I don't think I can take 'Doc targets Inglis' followed by bringing in Ben Cockayne on loan.

A little observance over the titles of topics would have helped here. It's either that, or you were trying to be clever. Either way, you've failed.

| I think the 48 hrs report was started in the MEN and followed by other 'investigative' journalists.
Reading the RFL report it seems Dr K has targeted Sunday night for an update on 2 players of interest.

You really have to be wary of these NRL player agents. They have a reputation for being as slippery as a wet fish coated in Vaseline. Don't be surprised if they are just using Koukash and his millionaire profile to drive up the value of a new contract elsewhere. Ask yourself how the Australian media found out about the interest from Salford? The information was planted for a purpose.
Let's just wait and see what happens before we get the champagne out of the ice bucket.

nope it was meant as a friendly warning about expecting too much. your fans are a bit like ours in that you sometimes expect a big name and then end up with someone nowhere near to what you were expecting. it would be nice to have big name signings every few weeks but even wealthy clubs can disappoint sometime with player recruitment. that said we'll wait and see on this one with interest.
and on a more practical note how much cap space do you have without offloading players?

Players will probably have to go, but I'm just guessing. I have no idea what the financial situation of any Club really is. Like every fan. No point people harping on about the cap. Salford will be scrutinized a little closer than others due to our owner blabbing about the cap early on after his takeover. A misguided attempt to make a point on his part that he's not repeated, thankfully.
As for getting something less than we expect, most people will know that Salford fans will always air on the negative side. We're pretty used to picking-up the scrapings of other Clubs over the years, so maybe we can be forgiven for a little excitement every now and again. The Doc will probably come back from down under with Slater, Thurston, and Locke...
...Donald Slater, Albert Thurston, and Gerald Locke.
