Excellent first half , we played to the conditions and caused Huddersfield all kinds of problems.
I was wondering wether we had done enough with the wind in our favour, DH`S try straight ffom the 2nd half ko was the game breaker for me.
As for the Huddersfield it was odds on they were going to get some points on the board considering the wind.
I`d agree with Redgunner on their last two tries , pretty dubious to me.

i actually debated weather to go or not today, glad i did



the quite drunk hudds fan in front of us (we were in the bottom left of the familly stand) took a lot of abuse from some sections, but i've got to say he was great, winding my kids up (in a funny good way), the type of fan you want at a rugby league match.

perhaps shudds wont get so cocky next time leaving some of there "big guns" out,!this must have only wound us up more with them giving disrespect thinking they could beat us without hodgson crabtreeand drew!well done reds and a deserved man of match for daniel"friendless"houldsworth!!

Been asking for this for weeks and look at what happens when it is tried.
Holdsworth was superb Stef had a decent game in support and M Smith kept things going when he came on as interchange.

A great win and hopefully this will kick start our season. The only trouble is though that it is Wigan next which will be tough

Wigan have been the best side in SL so far this season. However that was already true when they went to Bulls and 40 minutes concentration by Bradford did for them. Not beyond Salford to match that effort.

Wigan are struggling a bit with injuries at present (although they seem to have an enviable amount of stength in depth).

Let's hope they're as over-confident as Huddersfield were today.

Well i set off today with my Cd of all my fave manchester music. Smiths, Stone Roses, Easterhouse, James , Buzzcocks. was all set up for a good win and it seems i turned up but the team did not.

At least with you winning i got to hear the Buzzcocks every time you scored.

Hmm. I unintentionally instigated a love in with the Wakey fans a few weeks back. However, going off this, I reckon Hudds may well take Wakey's place as my fave set of opposing fans. Very honourable lot imo.

We didn't turn up today,Well we did but without any fight in us, yes we had a weakened side but still should have had enough quality to compete which we didn't . Great performance from the reds. Danny 'Dean' Houldsworth was top - sharp passing, a bit of invention which is usually unheard of from Salford - the pack was on form, and for once our kicking game was excellent. We were helped from a few errors from Hudd but that was down from our pressure. Still much room for improvement as we got scrappy towards the end and seemed to run out of gas a bit. I would also like to see a bit more support when we break the line with someone on the shoulder i.e. Fitzy should be in and around the breaker a la Billy Slater.

Can't fault our performance though!!!!!

Fantastic performance yesterday and bar the last 15 minutes we were by far the better team. It was obvious we tired towards the end and Hudds were throwing everything at us so I'm not too disappointed we leaked a couple of tries at the end. The pack were immense, the kicking game fantastic (bar a couple) and I'm not sure I've ever seen such a monstrous 40-20 as Malc's in the first half, it was more like a 20-5!!!



We were really fired up yesterday and the players should take great credit for the effort and the manner in which we won. Hudds are a class team and I think things may have been different with Crabtree & B Hodgson in the team but I don't want to take anything away from our lads. I'm not even going to single individuals out for special mention as there wasn't a poor performance on the pitch.

Let's enjoy the win for the next few days as I fear things will be different come Wigan on Sunday. But as long as the players play against Wigan like they did yesterday I'll be going home a happy man, regardless of the result.

it was a great performance from us. Thought they might have came back at us in the second half but us scoring straight from the restart seemed to knock the stuffing out of them even more! Hope we can do the same against wigan, looks like they might have a few injury problems with roberts etc, so you never know!

thought the whole team were outstanding thoughout certainly a superleague performace if ever ive seen one.
Tactically we were spot on , mentally we were on the ball too everyone was sound with Tyrers quick thinking to push Hodgson into touch rather than tackle him and intercepting and running away from the cover shows he got over last weeks brain farts and he hasnt let it effect his game

Thought the pack ran in hard and played smart rugby league running at Robinson who got battered thoughout, thought with the platform built by the forwards allowed The Wizard, Rachford and M Smith make some good plays, it was certainly a good team effort thoughout and deserved the two points.

Ill give you the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the end of the game and our inability to close the game down, i feel it was all about us conserving energy for the challenge of wigan ahead rather than huddesfield turning it on

Lets kick on from here now and see where we go starting wigan sunday.

great too read so many positive comments. are we on track for a few more wins? i think so. yes there are going to be days when they dont turn up and they get there bottoms smacked.but i think if we can keep everyone fit n fresh then we ll climb steadily up the table. thares a lot of young players in the mix who will be buzzing now and with that enthusiasm rubbing off on the more experienced players i think it would be a happy camp at the moment!!!!! up the reds, just hope united can get over bayern now!!!
