So, when all the memberships are up for renewal in February, Forever Reds could publish something, perhaps a totaliser, something graphic, showing what the trust could do when it reaches a certain number of members.
For example:
100 members — Dietary supplements for the Academy squad
150 members — Help towards travel/maintenance costs for the Red Hot Flames
200 members — Kit for the Academy squad
250 members — New tackle bags, balls, cones etc for local amateur teams
300 members — Sponsor another first team squad member promoted from the Academy
400 members — Physio equipment
500 members — Sponsor local amateur team
750 members — Extra piece of gym equipment
1000 members — Extra scholarship place for the Foundation/Academy
A speculative list, but you get the idea. Would something like this encourage you more to join up or renew your membership?'"
i'm a member of forever reds, but i wouldn't be if i knew we were spending money on the flames. (150 members)
sorry if some aren't happy, but i would rather sponsor a junior team in the region.

Chico, I joined Forever Reds, possibly for similar reasons to yourself, to help Salford City Reds, and I didn't join to get anything out of it apart from providing what help the F/Reds can provide to assist the club in any way that it can.
The people that I have met at the meetings have in the main been great to get to know all with different opinions about what needs to be done which is a good thing.
The players/officials who have attended the various meetings and events and the input that has been put into the meetings etc are well worth the annual subscription alone.
We appear to have a group of people around who appear to be always on the lookout for freebies etc and I suspect that if the club offered free season tickets to everyone who applied before the 1st of September there would be an outcry due to the fact that the date was too early or it isn't fair for an offer to close on a Tuesday.
The money that F/Reds have raised and donated to the club has been a benefit to the running of the club and its Academy sides in particular and long may this continue.
For the people who"No nothing about what goes on at F/Reds" that doesn't
stop them from coming to a meeting which are free admission.

| I have a concern here that Forever Reds seems to be about fund-raising. Although this is a very impotrant factor, I feel we need a forum (at least) where we can assist the club to go forward. This is no criticism of the efforts put in. Its more a personal view that the future is worrying.

| We have fans that moan but won't help for a small cost. Swinton have more Trust members than us!!!
The trust can apply for funds that a commercial body can't. This money can then be used to assist our local clubs. There is so much more to Forever reds that people don't know about.
Forever Reds have a good relationship with the club, Shirley is in regular contact and raises any issues with them on behalf of fans. They do respond and send marketing managers or formerly Trish. John, Howard and Dave Tarry have all attended meetings. We do not have any other conduit to inform the club of our issues as a group of fans.
As for suporting The Flames, they offer so much support and help when FR are fund raising and have done over the years so a small contribution of £200 isn't much too ask.
Membership costs £10 for the first year and £5 to renew for adults (junior members is £5 and £2.50)

Swinton's trust has [iconsiderably[/i more members than Salford's.
Personally, I wouldn't want to bleat on about this because it's a supporter's choice about whether they feel trust membership is for them or not, and they shouldn't be bludgeoned into joining. Perhaps Swinton's situation is more desperate than ours and as such its trust may garner more favour, or support. I don't know. But the fact Red Willow points out still stands.
To reiterate: Forever Reds is an all-inclusive supporters trust. It is not anti-Main Stand, it is not anti-Shed, it is not anti-club — there are no discriminations here. Every member has an equal say in the running of the trust, an equal say in where the money raised goes. The money Forever Reds donates will never pay off a big tax bill. The money goes towards the Academy, the Foundation, community groups linked with the club and the local amateur RL scene — effectively, the current and future of our club. These are the facts.

You are partly correct in that Forever Reds have been involved in fund raising and when it was formed that was the whole idea so that the year we were relegated a large sum of money was needed to be raised to enable the team to stay full time and we succeeded in our first test.
Forever Reds is the perfect forum to assist the club to go forward and at each meeting the fans are always asked "Is there anything that anyone wants to bring up"and on some occasions people bring up points that they are concerned about IE The stadium, the coaching staff, the players etc.and the standing area at the new stadium was brought up firstly at a Forever Reds meeting and the club acted upon it in its plans.
The assistance that has been given by Forever Reds towards the Academy players was requested by Alan Hunte with a view to improving the Academy set up which I feel has helped Alan to improve the set up behind the scenes.
The equipment that was provided for the use of the club physio's again has improved the medical staff's ability to work on the players after injuries.
The fact that Forever Reds has sponsored Jordan Turner has helped the club financially in a difficult period.
The proposed purchase of a defibrilator for use again by the medical staff in a emergency must improve the medical response when required.
The Forever Reds members that I come into contact with some young, some a bit older, and others well into their pension pots only want one thing, for the club to prosper and go forward for another 100+ years.
If more people became involved with Forever Reds there would be more ideas coming forward from people of different backgrounds which can only make things better for the trust and the club and its fans.

| Question for Iain probably.
If you fail to renew your membership for a whole year, do you then need to rejoin as a full member costing £10?

the board and has a member I would say IMO that a full membership is due, or to be,diplomatic, £5 for the year you have missed and £5 for the following year.
At Lancashire if you do not renew your membership in any year you have to reapply to be a member the following year and pay full.

We can get a couple of net sessions in at Old Trafford. Or a few practice games. Usually a good laugh.
I've got one full set of batting gear, get some wicketkeeping stuff together and a couple more sets of batting gear and we're sorted.
Oh, make it 25 overs, more credible.
