Well said that man!
Saturday was an example of how dull and predictable we have become under Mcrae.
Even in the wet conditions at least celtic tried to play rugby , where as throwing the ball wide seemed an alien concept to some of our lads
I want to be entertained when i go to a game but can anyone actually say were being entertained at the moment!

Totally agree.
Just watch the teams he coaches play, it is totally different to the first team.
I would also have Malcolm Alker as an assistant.
The sooner McRae is shifted upstairs away from front line coaching the better for me.
BTW Noble as Salford coach....

| I agree with what people say about both McCrae and Noble. It would be the worst move we could make and we do play a boring style of rugby under McCrae.
However PIPO, I was royally entertained by the lads against Saints and do you know why? Because they threw the McCrae game plan out of the window in the first half and went for it. Arguably our best performance of the season and it didn't have a McCrae thought in sight.
Pity we reverted back to listening to the dullard on saturday

| The club needs a cheating, dirty coach of the like never seen before. We currently adopt a style which is ever so compliant with the rules and regulations but which referees don't seem to recognise.
We'd say that Salford have consistently played by the rules i.e. no forward passes (barring the one in the Hull FC game), no holding down, no deliberate high shots, no offside, no taking out the in-play kicker etc,.
Let's have a coach who treats the rules like all the other more successful coaches and makes Salford a more competitive team!
What was it Alec Murphy used to say " Salford will never win anything because they are too nice" or words to that effect!!!

| That's for you to decide Baldfella isn't it, but when did we last play that style of rugby under McCrae. His game plans involve 5 dumb-ass forward drives and a kick down field usually straight down the throat of the full back who returns the ball with interest and we end up defending our own line again within 2 tackles.
We even played that way in some games in NL1 last year when we should have been running the opposition all over the park and tiring them out rather than making it easier for them by 1 man s**te up the middle.
Coaches talk about game plans like there's no opposition!!! Kenny Gill never played to a game plan... he just played.... and we won the league twice in 2 years with him at 6.
Here's my game plan for the Cas match on friday. Let Stefan Ratchford boss the show like he did against Saints and lock McCrae and Father Ted in the Willows where they can't do any harm!!!!!

| well that could be a interesting thing, Noble comes in, succesful at Bradford, ok at wigan will command repect, Mcrae moves upstairs into a Director of rugby role, he is a big name, has coached at the top level for years will entice bigger players with him and Noble at the club didnt he have a simuar role in oz before he came here.
Would leave Mr Simms in a dodgy position tho but at least we would have a comparison to compair with then.
As for having favourites Mcrae has his and plays his too so i dont think that would change too much

| Good players should not need coaching, they should be allowed to get out there and play their game.
If I was told the plan yet again was to do five drives through the middle run into the markers get nowhere and then kick I would say fook that, lets pass the bloody thing and play the game as it should be.
Noble has the same game plan as McRae.They are dinosaurs in the modern game who should be shunted off to some remote island never to be seen again.

Kenny Gill may have not played to a game plan but I think you'll find he played alongside slightly better players than we have at the moment.
You talk about 5 drives and a kick, exactly the tactics that beat Saints, its our inconsistency thats our downfall. If we have a good kick/chase (as against Saints),dont give away penalties, and don't knock on,then we are competitive. In too many games this season we've made too many basic errors and struggled because of this.
As for McCrae, any coach that can get wins at Hull.Leeds,Huddersfield and at home to Saints must be doing something right.

i think that is the problem in a nut shell, the players turn over too much ball and get punished against other teams, personally i feel if the players were able to remain as switched on as they were against saints (because they were making a point against one of the bigger sides in the comp) against everyone else i think we would be feared.
Unfortunatley its take a lot phycially and mentally to perform at that level week in week out, that is why we came crashing back down to earth at celtic.
I hope after a weeks rest (that what we'll call celtic mentally) i think the players should be able to produce a simular performance which beat saints

Crap Aussies? Smith-disappointing
Cashmere-most yards made,most offloads
Swain-Tackling machine
Henry-improving after injury-hit start.
I agree after the Saints game it was strange to put Steff in the centre, but perhaps McCrae is experimenting to see what works, lets face it,if Steff did turn into a decent centre it would solve a lot of problems.

But Stef is not a centre,Winger or whichever position McRae decides to put him into next.
You do not see him shifting Smith around do you ?
Stef is a stand off and should be kept there.

what i am saying is playing steff out of position wrong
the coach made the choice ,he should of had the balls to keep myler out of the team , the team the week before beat a good st helens team , the fans that went to celtic were let down badly , steve simms is every year going on a holiday to oz at the expense of the club to look for goood players ,
my run down on this years lot
cashmere , looks like a giant runs like a fairy
henry came with a good rep , done not a lot
swainn best of a bad bunch
smith any player that turns his back on the ball during a game deserves everything he gets from the fans , he really is drawing money under false pretenses , totall crap , and whoever made the choice to sign him should go to MR SIMMS
i hope hill billy red this clears it up as for insulting people i pay my money i am intitled to my opinion ,if i feel the club would do better to get rid of the slug and farther ted i will say so , whjat i cannot understand is how mr wilky is a very clever man yet year after year simms brings the same old crap over to play for us

Has made more yards and offloads than any other salford player this season which is what you want in your front row, true he hasnt skittled a defence but with our round the ruck play and support play sometimes so pedestrian i cant reaily see see the point in sending in a Kamakazi runner just to get swallowed up by the defence and waist a tackle.
Korki was a perfect example of this, when other teams figured out he was our go to man to get big yards they buit a wall of big forwards infrount of him and he just kept running into it, without a bit of cunning or guile around the ruck it becomes worthless, put cashmere and korki in the same team with better service around the ruck then we'd be in business imo.
id rather get more 2nd phase ball from an offload to give the likes of smith and henry a broken defence to cause chaos in .
In the off season i hope we bring in another fairy like cashmere replacing stapo or big phil or both, id like a forward who could skittle a defence to come of the bench who is young and willing to progress here at the willows as well would certainly give other teams more to think about when defending against us.

Smithy68,do you actually watch any of the games?as your assessment of the situation with some of the players is way off the mark, are you"John from Salford" in disguise?
You are entitled to your opinion as we all are but your views and comments on some matters appear to be completely over the top.
If you say that all this years overseas players are not up to it you are in a minority as previous posters have pointed out and Jeremy Smith has said that he can play better than he has up to date.
With regards Steve Simms, he is entitled to a holiday, he has family in Australia and he is quite entitled to visit them and he pays for the holiday himself according to the club, take that as the truth.
To continually keep singling individuals out when performances such as last Saturdays was down to a very poor team effort is unfair and according to the players at the Forever Reds meeting last Monday they accepted that as a team.
With regards to changing a winning team and moving the man of the match to another position was in my opinion a mistake and the coach should take full responsibility for the move.
